The Green Room

My "sweetie" made VALENTINE's 2011 most memorable. He took me to dinner at 'THE GREEN ROOM'. (THE GREEN ROOM is a beautiful restaurant with the ambiance of simple elegance; exposed brick and rich wood, intimate low lighting, and gorgeous art pieces provided by local artists. The owners and staff are amazing! The food is scrumptiously delicious and presented in elegantly, simple sophistication. If you haven't been there yet, it is a MUST! THE GREEN ROOM is located next door to SHARKEY's, across the street from MAST GENERAL STORE).



As we entered the restaurant, we were greeted warmly by the hostess who seated us promptly. Our waiter, greeted us and brought our drinks; then came a basket of delicious breads accompanied with specialty butters and an infused oil...exotically tasty! Next followed a Spinach & Artichoke Dip...smooth, creamy and flavorful! Then the entrees made a grand appearance, each tantalized and satiated the taste buds...one, a Shrimp & Grits dish, slightly spicy with Andouille sausage; the other, an elegant display of Meatloaf nestled atop baby pearl peas and jalapeno macaroni-n-cheese, all perfectly seasoned with one layer complimenting the other. For dessert, the Berry Cobbler was recommended...it was a perfect choice! The cobbler had a crisply browned, sugared crust floating atop plump and pleasantly tart berries simmering in a bubbling bath of natural berry juices...all I can say is, "Y-U-M-M-Y"! All of this beautifully, delicious food was expertly prepared by Chef Andre. (KUDOS!, Chef Andre!).



The finishing touch was a glass of champagne. It was perfectly chilled and delicately flavorful to the palette. My Valentine 2011 was extraordinarily special; thanks to my "sweetie" and the wonderful staff at THE GREEN ROOM.
