Dental Examination
A full comprehensive exam will be completed as well as any necessary x-rays. If parents specified they want a cleaning done, we will try our best to get this accomplished for the family.

Fluoride Treatment
There is no question that fluorides reduce dental decay. But parents often wonder whether or not there are additive effects of fluoride. In other words, are fluoride treatments at the dentist’s office beneficial when there is fluoride in the water? Are fluoride mouth rinses helpful when there is fluoride in the toothpaste?

Highly effective in preventing decay on the biting surfaces of your child’s chewing teeth, sealants are a simple procedure in which a tooth-colored “coating” is painted onto the surface of the tooth. This will ‘seal’ the high risk areas from decay.

Pacifiers can also be a factor in developing future bite problems. After the age of 7 months, a child’s sucking needs decrease so we recommend reducing the use of a pacifier by age 2. Research shows that extended use of a pacifier leads to misalignment of the teeth as well as alterations in some oral structures. Pacifier use has also been shown to increase the risk of your child developing an ear infection, as well as very involved orthodontic (braces) including jaw surgery.
