If you don't care to lose your security deposit to fraudulent management feel free to live here. Building and apartment is beautiful but the stress of dealing with frauds, liars and deceiving people from Parkoff is not worth it!

I had to leave my beautiful apartment 1 month before my lease ending due to a massive fire that occurred directly 2 Floors below me . My apartment was covered in smoke, toxic gas ( from what my nest alarm stated) and soot! Everything was damaged. I could not stay there as i have small children , which one is a newborn. I explained this to every single person in Parkoff management including the the small office they have located downstairs in my building. No one seems to really care or be concerned!

I didn't ask for free rent! All I asked was for a proration until my lease was up as I was staying with my family at a hotel. Finally, DAVID FREEMAN ( management supervisor) agreed to end my lease early as he also have children and would not had stayed in an Smoke infested apartment as well" with the agreement that I pay the proration and they will send my security deposit to my new address!

Well , it's been 3months later and numerous of emails and calls to them and finally I get a text! ( the attachment picture of our conversation) ....so again. Don't rent from these frauds.

We applied for an apartment and the company knew we had a dog. Several days after turning in the application we were told the building did not take pets (despite conversations about my dog). The company returned our paperwork including our fees but did not endorse the money order. Now the bank will not accept it as it is made out to Parkoff and Western Union will take a $40 fee to cash it. So basically we lost $40 because this company does not know what is going on and refuses to simply endorse the money order.

DO NOT RENT FROM THEM YOU WILL REGRET IT... Parkoff Management office staff are rude and disorganized. It is the most irresponsible and inconsiderate management I have ever dealt with. I lived at 2765 Matthews are and they are disgusting. They take forever to respond to any repair complaints. When they complete it they do it wrong so it has to be redone 3 or 4 times and they still don't get it right. David Friedman is a rude man that only cares about money. He is very unprofessional, has poor management and communication skills. The super is lazy and rude as well and has poor communication skills. These 2 men treat tenants with little respect and act like their paychecks don't come from OUR rent... the super belongs in a cage where he has no contact with humans. David is always too busy when you need him for repairs but will harass you for petty things that are irrelevant. They have so many requirements to get approved to move in and the lease has so many clauses it is NOT even worth it. Had I known this management was so bad I would have NEVER signed a lease with them.

I moved in to Riverdale, Bronx a couple years ago, and during that time the building was sold to Parkoff, from day one, the expereince plummeted. I was able to move out this year, and only recently got my security deposit back - and that was only after legal threats and pressure from an attorney - 4 months later. The building is great, and we actually miss it, but the management absolutely kills it. You do everything right as tennants - yet they treat you like scum. Many tennants, many of whom have been there for decades feel stuck, and dont know what to do with themselves. I'm happy to have been able to leave when I could. They are rats, and if you are looking to move to Riverdale, dont move in to the Netherland Avenue property. Save yourself the trouble, as they simply do not care about you. Look at their website - does it look like they want anything to do with you, or want to talk to anyone?
