        Good for temporary stay/housing

        If you're not picky about where you stay, this place will do. We've been here for a month - we bought a house and are closing in about a week and a half. It's pretty trashy, but I bet it could be worse. The carpet looks like it's never been cleaned, however, most of the people that stay here work in the fields and come home dirty and track it everywhere anyway. It's Gillette! Most people do dirty work around here! We stayed in a different room the first night. The heater didn't work. Well, I say it didn't work. When I turned it on, it sounded like a lawnmower and started smelling like it was burning... So I turned it off. We slept in our clothes and socks to keep warm.



        We moved to another room after that - bigger room/bed. The heater (thankfully) works in this one is definitely newer. The window a/c unit works, but it doesn't cool off the room well. It helps, but if it's hot in the room, the unit gets it to warm. The bathroom doesn't have outlets. The light fixture has an outlet, but ours didn't work in either room. The rooms look like they don't get thoroughly cleaned. The walls are dirty. The sheets on the bed are old - clean - but old. The blanket on the bed has cigarette burns in it - in both rooms we stayed in. When we first got here, the room smelled like straight cigarettes. It's gone away now - thankfully. At least the cable tv works. They also have wireless internet, so that's definitely a plus.



        The room service is good. They come every day and are helpful in getting me what I need. I clean the room myself, since I stay here all day. We have a baby and two dogs with us. I wouldn't stay here if the motel was horrible, so I'd say it's workable. It'll do for the time being. Plus, it's the cheapest we've found without being completely disgusting.



        The thing that bugs me more than the lack of quality rooms, bedding, towels, etc., are the owners. They might not know customer service if it smacked them in the back of the head. The wife is rude every time I go to the office. The vending machine ate my quarter today. I went and asked her for a quarter because it ate mine and I didn't have another one. She questioned me for a minute, went and looked at the machine, told me two or three times it's not their machine, and finally gave me a replacement quarter - from the sweetness of her soul... You would've thought I was asking for a hundred bucks... She also questions me about how clean our room is every time I go in the office to get my key reconfigured. It seems to stop working at least two or three times a week. The husband owner is nice, but not super friendly. Their kids work here sometimes, and they don't know what they're doing. My mother-in-law sent a package and they told the mailman that we didn't live here... so our package got sent back to the east coast...



        All-in-all, if you needed a temporary place to stay overnight or weekly/monthly, this place would do. Rentals are hard to find and expensive out here. However, if you're a princess and expect the highest quality, go to the Wingate Inn. It's great. Pricey, but great!
