Polylon Robes

We have been requiring the use of blue Polylon baptismal robes for years and it has been a blessing for the whole church. The one piece jumpsuit styling and waterproof nylon fabric allows us to baptize people any time with no underclothing necessary. The water just runs right off and the culotte legs prevent riding up. Easy to change in and out of and easy cleanup as well. And they give the look of ceremonial beauty and dignity but yet are simple and humbling to wear for a humbling but soothing public act of being immersed. They let us keep pride and vanity out of the baptistry. The fashionista with the 500 dollar dress and 100 dollar hairdo looks just like the homeless woman off the street when they are standing there soaking wet in the same gown with their hair all washed out in front of all those people. And that is a beautiful thing and part of what baptism is all about. Polylon robes allow us to lovingly provide the humility and obedience people need and long for at baptism, even those who are resistant at first. And most people want to wear them and enjoy the experience.
