When you realize you need psychiatrist, and you overcome every excuse you can think of, you need to pray you are blessed by God to get into Dr Lisa Wirth's practice. I find it hard to believe that you could find anyone as caring or more invested in helping you. When your darkest and most vulnerable times in your life actually happen, you can’t get better care anywhere. But know that she has no ability to suffer people who are going to waste her time and she has a state of the art bs detector. She is the most intuitive and insightful physician & person I have ever met. She also has an unequaled ability to get to the point and telling you the honest truth but in a way that you will appreciate it even if you don't want to hear it! I can not say how fortunate I was to find her when I did. I was referred by my primary care physician.
I had a gastric bypass surgery the year before and it was the best six months I have ever had in my life. Until I woke up and I was so exhausted I couldn't get out of my bed. After a panel of every possible lab that could show my body was deficient in something due to the bypass yet it is all normal, there’s only one conclusion. It has to be a severe clinical depression. So I am referred to the first psychiatrist and she was exactly what I expected her to be. She did her battery of psych tests and said that my PCP had missed something. She said I had no depression and sent me back to my PCP. They must have missed something. They did everything again with the same results. So I am sent back to the psychiatrist again because she is missing something. I decided I was not going back to the one who found nothing. This is when I feel like God stepped in and had me see Dr Wirth. She is in practice by herself, and therefore has a limited number of patients she can treat. She was exactly the complete opposite of what I had expected. She has a way of putting you at ease and almost immediately you realize that this physician really cares, and wants to help you anyway she possibly can. She made me understand that there was no shame in asking for help. She is one of the rare people who become a doctor for all the right reasons and her practice is not business, it is a safe place where you feel like everything is going to be okay. You know you are her patient, not a customer.
If you have been directly or indirectly involved in the medical industrial complex since the Clinton and Obama attempts to make the healthcare industry more user friendly, then you know that anytime the federal government gets involved, it’s going to be a disaster.
When I go in to see her and not knowing what to expect, she comes in and within just a few minutes you know that she wants to help you. She had me to come back the next week. She could see that I didn't understand what was going on and I was scared. She wrote me new prescriptions and I filled them and came back the next week. Maybe even more exhausted than the first time since it had began. When I got into her office, she could see that I was no better. She said she went back and looked over all my labs again. She couldn’t find any cause for my symptoms. I was genuinely impressed that she cared enough to take time after leaving her office to give me another thought. By my next visit, she had called the surgeon & ask what in the hell was going on with her patient. I have never had a Dr do that. It was very informative because the surgeon had received new info describing my symptoms and the cause. This gave her the information she needed to start to help me. The new findings showed 1 in 4 patients was having the same symptoms. The lab work was showing a precipitous drop in the naturally occurring brain chemicals that make you feel good.
She refused to quit until she found a way to make me feel better. Drs like this do not exist anymore. If you need help pray that you can see this credit to her profession!!
