Overall
Dr. Daniel Rhoads

I was a patient with Dr. Daniel Rhoads, who is associated with Specialty Clinics of Georgia. I saw Dr. Rhoads on November 6, 2008. I was involved in an accident on Oct.5, 2008, in which I fell 20 feet to the ground. After going to the ER in Clayton, Ga I was told to go to Medlink Rabun for a follow up visit. I saw Dr. Findley at Medlink....he was GREAT. Due to some unfortunate circumstances, Dr. Findley had to have emergency surgery on his back and I was left in limbo with my medical treatment. When I FINALLY got an appt. scheduled with Dr. Rhoads, he came into the room, introduced himself. He asked me who I had seen for a follow up visit, I told him Dr. Findley. He asked what happened with that. I told him that according to Medlink Dr. Findley had to be sent to Emory for surgery on his back. Well.....almost IMMEDIATELY Dr. Rhoads demeanor toward me totally changed. He became very rude and told me that HE was the one that operated on Dr. Findley. I was like GREAT that makes me feel much better. He told me to come back to Medlink and let everyone here know that Dr. Findley had been in his office just the day before and that he would be returning to work within the next two weeks. My 17 yr. old son and future mother-in-law were with me during the entire visit and we were all amazed at the treatment/or lack of treatment Dr. Rhoads gave to me. He NEVER even looked at my back. He checked out my ankle and told me if I would hold it correctly it wouldn't hurt. At that point I had been wearing a boot cast for 21 days. He told me that I was going to be "down" for at least the next 6 months to 1 year; there is no magic wand for the injuries I had sustained. I asked if he could at least prescribe me ibuprofen....he blatantly and rudely told me NO. He said I should go home and tough it out. I was in tears from the pain and angry from the way I had been treated. My future mother-in-law had some questions for him and he looked at my family and asked me.....what did you have do bring the A team? I can honestly say I will NEVER recommend this doctor for anything. I will be filing EVERY complaint possible about him. My step son sees Dr. Chandler Gilbert in this same office and the difference in the treatment is absolutely amazing. Dr. Rhoads has the bedside manner of a rock. He chose to send me home with no medication or relief to teach me a lesson because he didn't receive his propers about the surgery he performed on Dr. Findley. IF ANYONE MUST GO TO SPECIALTY CLINICS OF GA. & YOUR APPT. IS SCHEDULED WITH DR. DANIEL RHOADS.......REFUSE TO BE SEEN BY HIM. When we reached the check out desk, the nurse looked at my diagnosis papers, she asked for my next appt. I told her I didn't have one. She then asked for my pre-op paperwork, I told her I had none. Her jaw dropped. She apologized twice and told me to have a good day. It cost me a total of $212.00 to be told to come home and tough it out. What an expensive lesson that one was.
