RUINED my hair.
Braided my hair very very tight, so tight I got hair loss and destroyed edges, even though I had told them that it felt much too tight and was reassured 'they'll loosen'. Synthetic hair bought from the shop also gave me an allergic reaction. Scalp was itchy, sore and red for 3 days to the point of tears and then on day 5 I threw in the towel and removed them. Awful Awful AWFUL experience and waste of $300!

Also, they let me sit in the shop for 5 whole hours before touching my head, even though there was only 1 other person in the shop, they wouldn't even talk to me. I ended up staying there for 12, yes 12 WHOLE HOURS.

I also told them I needed to have the hair lightweight enough to put in a ponytail or bun because my work requires my hair to not touch my collar. They ended up putting 7 PACKS OF HAIR on my head, and the hair was so heavy I had to be careful how to hold my head. At $9 a pack, no wonder they put in so much, but it was NOT $8 a pack quality.

I simply love this place, it's so clean and the workers are so nice...this place rocks

I was forced to smell these ROTTEN FISH smelling women for 9 HOURS. I walked up to look at a book of styles & the ROACHES scatted also MICE turdes in the book! HEALTH DEPARTMENT WHERE ARE YOU !!!

On 2 June 2014, I went to Queen's Braiding in Fredericksburg, Va to buy hair. I had corn rolls in the front and box braids in the back. Cynthia, told me she could do feed in braids in the front and box in the back like I previously had. in 3 hours. I said ok, So she took out my hair and washed it. She started with the box braids in the back. she gets less than half way up and STOPS. and Emma starts with the feed in braids (kinda like corn rolls but prettier) and I asked Cynthia if she was going to put more box braids and she said NO, that is the way it was when you came in. I said NO it was further up my head she starts ARGUING with me that it wasn't. then her and Emma started talking in their language and I know they were talking about me and I said if you talking about me you need to speak English. She said we not talking about you. I know they were. I just so happen to have PICTURES of my last hair style and showed them she STILL argued with me. and said if I want more box braids I would have to pay more money. I was already paying $130.00 plus $16 for 2 packs of hair which you don't see the packs they come out the back with the hair in a knot. You never know how much they actually use but you paying $8 a pack. I said I am not paying more money so just do what you doing. I will never come here again. CYNTHIA said good don't come back any more. Then she left the salon. No bye to me or anything. Emma finished my hair but she was co signing with Cynthia and I showed her the pictures too. OH and I had a 10% coupon and Emma said we don't take them any more, I said well it doesn't expire until 15 June 2014 how you not accepting it. She said let me call Cynthia and see. They talk in their language and I know they were talking negative about me but she only took off $10. I said you can keep the other $3 and she said no you can't use it on a take out and wash. That is NOT what the coupon says but I didn't argue cuz I knew I would NEVER step foot in there again. Very UNPROFESSIONAL, Place is not clean and they talk in their language (yell) to each other the WHOLE time your there they ignore you and you can't even hear the TV they are so loud. They just lost 4 clients!

I have tried this location three times. My first experience was outstanding. The owner was very nice and attentive. The second time my micro braids were done by a braider in the shop and they all fell out two days later. I didn't bother going back after that. I went back a third time only because I didn't want to travel up north. The third time was drama filled. I got there on time and the owner was an hour late. When I finally got in the chair it took 12 hours to do my hair. It took 12 hours because the owner kept starting and stopping to do other peoples hair, taking breaks (besides eating), and talking to everyone that walked in the shop. The braids were mircos, but the same braids I got at Queens would have took another shop 5 to 6 hours. Overall, I would not recommend this shop to anyone! DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME!

Truely outstanding. I took a picture of a braid I wanted done. I,ve been to two other places and they ; 1, wanted to over -charge or 2, did not know how to braid it. Yet when I went to African Queen, a lady by the name of Mrs. Cynthia not only gave me the name of the style but explained it in detail . When she was done ,it was better than the picture. Less time and less money. I truely love and my search is over for a hair salon. Tenika

This place truely is amazing. The quality of work done by the owner, Mrs. Cynthia, really bring out the queen in you. Once you step into the salon, it's unlike any other. Above all,child, her price is right.
