Overall

I went to Kruse Automotive because my car completely shut down and I was stranded. While working in my car they never called me and told me what they had found wrong, asked me about the parts they were purchasing and when I called for an update, Jim (the owner) acted as though I was irritating and hung up on me. I'm sorry... You have my car and I want to know what is going on and what you are doing. After two days, he calls and says it is fixed. $276 he charged. I open my car door and on the driver's side floor is my crushed sunglasses. So, they fell and instead of picking them, you stepped on them. Awesome!!! I get five miles down the road and what happens... My car did it again! I will never, ever deal with them again!!! They are rude, there was no communication at all, and they obviously have complete disregard for personal property. Unfortunately, this was a $276 lesson. I will continue to use Patriot Tire from here on out. Thanks!!! That is what I get for trying to save a buck. I will be filing a complaint with the BBB.

OVERCHARGED ON SERVICES

After taking our work vehicle to the shop for repairs in May of 2008, the owner found there was an issue with an elect. fuel component, thus requiring several gaskets and components to be replaced to replace this part. He had the repairs taken care of without first gaining permission to do so (the request was for a quote only). After this he called to let us know the truck was repaired and a new bill of approx. $1500.00 was due, and if we didn't pay this bill, he would just remove the new parts and put the truck back in the condition it arrived. We ordered an estimate of repair costs to first be performed, not the actual repairs to be done. He (Kruse) stated to me on the phone personally that he would call me with those details.

So we paid that bill and within 90 days the truck started to show some of the same symptoms that they were showing earlier. I took this to another mechanic, not wanting to deal with Kruse Automotive again, and got an estimate of repair costs. This he was able to tell me within half of an hour what the cause of the issue was. This I took to be under warranty from Kruse Automotive and subsequently had this towed to Kruse. I speifically told Kruse to check this under warranty and let me know what the issue was and how they plan on repairing this. He came back with a bill for Approx. $140.00 for time in to check repairs, unable to tell me what the charge was for other than that he opened the hood, tightened a battery cable and opened the radiator cap. He refused to go into any more detail of his 'repairs' and side stepped any questions as to why his company took so long to find this problem. (the other company found in half an hour (of me waiting) what had taken him, he called me two days later, over two hours to diagnose) This was a warranty check to see what might have gone wrong with the recent repairs, not authorization to do any more repairs. His estimate to make repairs was now going to be over $2500.00 more to fix the new issues at hand.

I found his attitude was beyond rude and unprofessional to the point of him telling me on the phone what my experience was and how I have limited knowledge of autos and further attempted to degrade my knowledge on this issue so he could get paid for his time (however long it took) His bantering and juvenile behavior is a major concern for me as a business man and vehicle owner. I can never consciously refer a friend or family member to this company for repairs, ever. I would however use this example of what not to expect out of a professional company. Being on the low end of a referral list is not the way to leave a reputation as I have recently found through the BBB with two other complaints within the past 36 months, and yes, I found this out after the fact.
