I would not recommend this day care to ANYONE..They keep children in the class room after they get sick after finding out they have something CONTAGIOUS! They NEVER post when something is going around the daycare! There is hand foot and mouth *a very contagious sickness* going around in one of the classrooms. BUILDING BLOCKS did not post AT ALL to tell the parents that the children even had it to begin with!!!! I am looking for another center to take my child to. THEY ARE A JOKE!

This daycare is wonderful! My son has been there since he was 4 months old and is now 2 years old. From the moment I first toured I knew that it was a loving and stable environment for my child. I have been extremely impressed with every teacher that my son has had. Each classroom keeps record of your childs activities and the curriculum they are studying and they provide that information to the parents. I appreciate this because I can discuss those things with my son at home and continue the learning process. When I pick him up in the evening, any teachers and staff that see him walking say goodbye and make a big fuss over him. I know that he is made to feel special and loved every day. If I ever have a question, the staff are always available and willing to answer my questions. Everytime there is a contagious illness in one of his class/schoolmates I am given a notification along with signs and symptoms for that illness. Again, I must say I really appreciate everyone at Building Blocks for being so good to my son.

My daughter has been at Building Blocks for over two years, and I have been very pleased with the quality of the care she receives. It's the only daycare I've enrolled her in, but I did tour several other daycare centers and in-home daycares before deciding that this was the best for us. It is very important to me that my daughter be given a lot of affection, and the teachers are very gentle and loving with the kids, giving lots of hugs and praise. In addition to behaving professionally even in difficult situations, you can tell that the director/s really do love children too. Building Blocks has several perks that set it apart from other daycares I've seen, including an indoor gym so the kids can exercise even when it's nasty/cold outside, the upper half of dutch doors on the classroom being left open so passersby can see inside at any time, and the option of bringing in milk/food for your child if he/she has special dietary needs (like soy milk, etc.). The classrooms have large windows in them so the children can see outside and get some natural light, and the layout of the daycare as a whole feels very open and spacious compared to others I've seen. The children often take walks, buggy rides, or ride bikes down the daycare's main hallways and through the church building's extensive hallways, so they're not confined to the classroom all day. I also really like that the daycare and surrounding church is made mostly of concrete blocks, which makes me feel better when we have tornado/severe storm warnings because the daycare is probably safer than our home. I'm also somewhat of a germaphobe, and I love how well maintained the daycare is - they regularly scrub the floors and shampoo the carpets, and have these huge industrial-sized fans to help them dry quickly. All in all I have been very happy with our experience at Building Blocks!

I have two children (ages 3 and 1) that attend this daycare and I couldn't ask for a better place to take them. As a mother, I was very nervous about who I was going to trust to watch my kids, but the first time I toured this facility I knew it was a great fit for our family. The teachers and directors here really care about my children and do an excellent job! In response to the negative review on here that stated the daycare does not inform parents when there is an outbreak - this is simply not true. I have received notifications that were sent home with my children informing me of what was going on. Also, whenever your child becomes sick while at daycare they immediately call you and remove your child from their class so they don't get other kids sick. I could not ask for a better place for my children to go while I am working. Also, the security is great. They have a great system to keep your kids safe and to prevent anyone from entering the facility that should not be there. You can't even get in the building without a special pass key or without them letting you in. Plus, there is another set of security doors after that before you can get to the children. I love this daycare and my children love it too!

I am an extremely picky mother of two who totally loves this daycare! My husband and I feel that the teachers and directors are amazing and truly care about our girls. We toured multiple childcare facilities in New Haven and Fort Wayne prior to placing our then 4 month old at Building Blocks. She is now 3 years old and loves going to "school". Our 15 month old also attends "school" and has been enrolled since she was 11 weeks old. We trust the teachers and directors completely with the care and curriculum in which our girls need!

Hi, I am the husband of one of the directors in question. I am amazed that such a horrible review could be written about Building Blocks Daycare. I cannot imagine anyone who would have a problem with either director. I have been married to one of the directors for four years. In that time, I have been very impressed with the care and caution that is taken when it comes to the welfare of the children. My children are grown now but if they were small again and I were to need a daycare for them, I would definitely consider Building Blocks. I have seen upclose how much the directors and staff care about the children. The entire staff goes above and beyond to make sure the children's safety and security are put first and foremost. Any parent should be very confident to place the lives of their children in the hands of the entire staff.

My mom use to watch my son while my wife would work for two days a week. Then my mother passed away and my wife and I didnt know what to do. We had a nother child on the way and really only had someone to watch our son until the new baby was born. After a lot of searching we found Building Blocks Daycare. As soon as we stepped foot in the place we were comfortable with it. Now our two boys have been attending there for almost 2 years now and they love it. We know they are learning a lot and being well taken care of. The one year old teacher is outstanding with my son as well as the other staff. I highly recommend them to everyone who wants great child care.

I was a stay at home mommy for the first 15 months of my son's life. When I chose to go back to work I wanted to find a daycare that I could trust and that he was comfortable with and would thrive in. After checking out several area daycares we chose Building Blocks, and he has been going there now for almost 2 years. We love it! The Teachers and Staff are amazing! He is happy and is thriving there. I would recommend them to anyone looking for a quality daycare in this area. I know that if I had to choose all over again, I would still choose Building Blocks.

I would not recommend this day...

I would not recommend this day care to ANYONE. The management there treat their staff like dirt. MOST of the teacher's are amazing but as far as the directors not so much! Two of the directors (the director , and the curiculum director) act like every teacher there needs to be robots. They blame the teachers for things they did not do and they yell at teachers in front of the children. They keep children in the class room after they get sick *throwing up sick* or after finding out they have something CONTAGIOUS! They NEVER post when something is going around the daycare! There was hand foot and mouth *a very contagious sickness* going around in one of the classrooms and it got out of hand. BUILDING BLOCKS did not post AT ALL to tell the parents that the children even had it to begin with!!!! I would NEVER take my kid to this center. THEY ARE A JOKE!
