Saint James Christian Academy

I have been in the middle school and have been horribly disappointed at how disorganized this private school is. I am saying this from even before hurricane Irma as well as now. The buses are run down, tore up and children are forced to ride in these conditions. I am giving an honest review. The teachers/staff seem to be sexist towards boys and treat them different from the girls. The lunch menu is repetitive and is not cheap. I was extremely disappointed with the lack of Biblical teachings here. They definitely make sure they get their check on time though. Its first priority is money. Not the way a Christian Private school should be ran. Just do your research.

This is our second year here. Has been a great school for my kids. The staff really care, teachers will go above and beyond, and I love how It's all Christ centered. They take care of the kids there, even the rougher ones they given them a chance because they believe all kids deserve a chance. There ain't schools like that anymore. God Bless SJCA!

My son started there last year and I can not get over how much of an improvement he has made he was a and b honor roll all year and just loves it there and so do I his teacher was the best ever loves her work and the kids and takes her time with each one I am very excited that he will be going back and soon his little brother will follow....

I was warned by my own kids that this school was not really a Christian school. In their own words "they don't pray here like we do in our other school and we don't have Bible class". That should have been my red flag to run, but I ignored it because the location was convenient. I believe another parent stated it correctly when she said this is a business school...a school of opportunity... but her posts no longer shows. I have heard from a worker there that if the school has ill feelings towards your child they will quickly be written up on it on the first day and suspended or expelled immediately for any small infraction, but I think what's the worst thing this school has ever done was LIE on a child to cause that child to be taken out of the school by authorities and then threaten other young children that they can get arrested too if they don't behave... even though no such thing happened. Nasty. In my opinion, the Dean especially and her tactics are unprofessional and the school cover each other up for the sake of their reputation. I had a blind-fold on my eyes but I'm telling you, listen to your children when they warn you about administrators in a school "Christian" or not. In my opinion this school is very dangerous because I have watched a grown man who calls himself a pastor say one thing to authorities and then cower like a whipped child in front of a grown woman and change his story; and not only that, but that they twist my own words. I have had no complaints from the elementary part of the school, just the middle. I honestly think they should be investigated for who they suspend/expel and who they allow to stay. If I wasn't a Christian, I would have mocked Christianity because of them. No matter who you are, when you harm a child of the Most High God, it would have been better for you to have had a mill-stone tied around your neck and be cast into the depths of the sea!

Saint James Academy school is a Serious but Fun and Excited place for my child to attend. She is challenged but not overwhelmed. The administration and Teachers go above and beyond for each and every student. I as a parent couldn't be happier with my child attending Saint James Academy. My entire family LOVES St.James Christian Academy. Several of my niece's, nephew's, as well as my granddaughter attend this school. We are so greatful for the quality education received there. There are so many avenues to meet each student at their point of need. The vast variety of extra curricular activity's only serve to enhance the quality education provided. But the most important factor here is the Christian foundation on which this school is founded. Every aspect from rules to curriculum is Christ centered. The staff and teacher's work diligently to help each student learn and grow while instilling within them good sound values along with the word of God. I love the fact that they still say the pledge if allegiance daily. St. James is definitely on the top if the list for Private Education in this area.

We love this school. My daughter is very happy there. She is challenged academically, and the environment is safe, calm and has a high standard for behavioral and academic performance. Her teachers take time to help her when she needs it, and always encourage her.
