Townsend Harris High School offers academic programs in basic and advanced courses from grades nine through 12. It operates through various departments, such as English, fine arts, math, science, social studies, physical education, health, fine arts, career and technical education and special education. The school offers foreign language programs in Japanese, French and Spanish, as well as college preparatory classes to its students. The school also offers winter, springs and fall sports, such as cross country, field hockey, football, golf, tennis, water polo, basketball, soccer, wrestling, baseball, volleyball, swimming, and track and field. Established in 1984, Townsend Harris High School provides enrollment to more than 1,000 students and is located in Flushing, N.Y.
