Overall
Uplifted as I learn of and feel the love of my Savior Jesus Christ

My desire to follow and live the teachings of Jesus Christ are strengthened and renewed as I gather with fellow friends and neighbors at church. I am uplifted as I listen to how the gospel touches their lives and I feel blessed to associate with these wonderful people. I have been attending meetings at this meetinghouse for 10 years. Everyone is so kind and welcoming. My 3 yr old son loves going and has such wonderful teachers and leaders who love him and strive to help him develop a love for the gospel.

Overall
Blessings of my church

I’ve attended the LDS Flower Mound 1st ward congregations for over twenty years. I find friendship, support and worship. Some of the blessing of belonging to our church:

1. With a lay ministry we are all given “callings” to serve each other. I’ve had opportunities to teach youth, young children and adults over the years. It’s been a blessing to serve and be served. One of my favorite callings was teaching several lively 5 year old children—feeling their enthusiasm and simple faith every week. Our children (some of them grown now) have been blessed so much by their leaders and teachers who reinforce what we try to teach at home.

2. In our congregation, every family/individual is supported by home teachers and visiting teachers. Each family is assigned two priesthood holders as home teachers. They visit every month, give a message about Christ and his gospel, and provide help when needed. Every woman is assigned two visiting teachers who also visit her every month to help her grow and thrive. Serving as a home teacher and having home teachers over the years has made my family feel connected and sometimes come to our rescue when we’ve had emergencies.

3. The most important time to worship is during sacrament meeting. Bread and water are blessed and we partake to remember Jesus, his grace and sacrifice, and our covenant to remember Him and serve Him and our neighbors. This is when I get the most spiritual nourishment. During the meeting, youth and adult members of the ward are given opportunities to give a short talk so that we all have a chance to share what we have learned and experienced in the gospel.

Whatever ups and downs occur in my life, my church is a grounding foundation that anchors me to Christ.
