Teeth Cleaning
Routine dental cleanings are performed by one of our highly qualified dental hygienists. Our hygienists are thorough, yet gentle, making sure you have the most comfortable cleaning experience possible. Typically, teeth cleanings are scheduled every 6 months, or more frequently if necessary.
Fluoride Treatment
In-office fluoride treatments offer extra protection against tooth decay for the patient. Fluoride is a mineral that can eradicate the beginning of tooth decay in the microscopic stages. We have foam treatments in a variety of appealing flavors that are applied in a mouth tray for a short amount of time, or we offer concentrated fluoride rinses for adults.
Dental Sealants
One of the parts of a tooth most susceptible to decay is the area with deep grooves and pits. They are found on the biting surfaces of back teeth. It is in these crevices that bacteria and sugar collect and create decay. This can be prevented by cleaning out these grooves and filling them in with a resin sealant. The sealant acts as a protective coating that blocks out decay-causing bacteria making the teeth easier to clean.

Fillings
Resin Composite
Composite resin dental fillings were created as an alternative to traditional metal dental fillings. Tooth fillings colored to look like a natural tooth are known as Composite Resin Dental Fillings. They are made of a plastic dental resin. They are strong, durable and make for a very natural looking tooth.
Veneers
Preferred by many of our patients, porcelain veneers can provide the lasting result of a smile makeover. Many cosmetic dental problems, such as chipped, gapped, stained, aged or misaligned teeth can be resolved with porcelain veneers. The porcelain veneer process begins with listening to what you want for your new smile. A mock-up is made and approved by you before treatment begins. The actual veneer preparation visit involves recontouring the enamel. An impression is then taken which will be sent to a skilled dental laboratory technician to fabricate the wafer thin porcelain. In the meantime, you will wear temporary veneers taken from the mock-up to try out your new smile. A few weeks later, the veneers are tried in and if you approve of them, they will be bonded to the teeth. Porcelain veneers are as strong as your own teeth and resist future discoloration and chipping. They make a dramatic and immediate difference to your smile and self-esteem.
Crowns
A crown is basically a cap for a damaged tooth. It can be made from a variety of materials, including metal or porcelain. Crowns are the perfect restoration solution when a tooth is severely damaged, decayed or compromised aesthetically. At Cross Timbers Dental, we will help your smile look great once again.
Bridges
Dental bridges literally bridge the gap created by one or more missing teeth. Dental bridges are a fast and reliable option for patients, and with good oral hygiene and regular dental cleanings, it is not unusual for the life span of a fixed bridge to be over 10 years (and maybe even more).
Dental Bonding
Dental bonding is one of the most conservative procedures that can solve many cosmetic tooth problems at an affordable price. It is a special resin composite that adheres to your teeth and blends in with your own enamel. By artistically applying the tooth bonding material layer by layer, stained, gapped, chipped or misaligned teeth can be fixed to give you a reshaped and refreshed smile. The color of the bonding material must match your teeth to assure a natural look. This may require getting your teeth to a pleasing color first, through deep bleaching or other services. Teeth bonding is not a permanent solution. Depending on your oral habits, dental bonding can last for years before requiring a new treatment.

Root Canal Treatment
This sedation is delivered through a vein and goes to work very quickly. Within minutes, you will fall into a peaceful sleep and feel zero pain or problems during the procedure. Once you wake up, you will feel a bit loopy, so you will need a family member or friend to drive you home. An IV is the deepest form of sedation and is typically performed for more extensive procedures (wisdom teeth, root canals, etc.).

Cosmetic Dentistry
I am originally from Minnesota, but was raised in Georgetown, Texas. I received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Texas A & M University. Although a true Aggie, my dental degree is from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, where I was an active researcher in the cosmetic dentistry department. My focus in private practice has been in restorative and cosmetic dentistry. My wife and I live in Flower Mound and enjoy raising our twins.
General Dentistry
I was born and raised in Minnesota, but moved to Texas in 1977. I attended the University of North Texas where I received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology, and shortly after, graduated from Baylor College of Dentistry in 1992. I followed my passion, and have been practicing general dentistry since that time. I recently refurbished a home in the historical district of downtown Grapevine, where I live with my wife of 13 years, Lori, and our two very spoiled dogs, Stitch and Frank. In our spare time, we love staying active with travel, collecting wine, and outdoor activities with family and friends. We are big supporters of local children’s charities including Make a Wish, and Children’s Cancer Fund of Dallas, where my wife serves on the Board of Directors. I am happy to have joined such a great family here at Cross Timbers Dental, and enjoy the relationships I’ve built with my patients.
