Cat Clinic of Fernandina

Five days ago, Friday,we realized Miss Badger was not well. She had a complete physical before we moved here less than a year ago. I went on the Internet and through a stroke of luck found Dr. Ashley Mersereau. When I described her condition they got me in the same day. Melanie greeted me and whisked us into an examining room. The wonderful Kim came in and handled her ever so gently; handling her with the respect and gentleness due a lady her age.



The ever smiling Lexie came in and introduced herself,



She had some serious problems. Dr. Mersereau handled her gently. She was not well and had breathing problems. The Doctor told me that serious intervention might help -- I was looking at an animal whose personality was gone.



We watched her fade and by Sunday knew she had to back to the Cat Clinic. Sunday night she somehow developed a spurt of energy and slept on our bed. A good bye.



I called Mon and we went to the clinic. Miss Badger had some XRays. Dr. Mersereau spent a lot of time explaining my alternatives. The inevitable was chosen. Kim gently cleaned her so she went at her best. The tiny bald kitten who had been thrown away on 9/11 with her eyes still closed was leaving me.



I drove home with an empty carrier. The phone rang as I pulled in -- Uncle Morris died.



In a few weeks expect me back with a new kitten named Uncle Morris.
