Located in Far Rockaway, N.Y., On Our Way is a learning center that serves the educational. The school offers on-site, half-day classes for children between the ages of 2 and 5, as well as full-day integrated sessions for children who suffer from developmental delays. On Our Way has an on-site enrollment of more than 150 children. It also serves over 140 children in their homes, schools, play groups and day care centers. It is under the auspices of the New York State Education Department and the New York State Office of Mental Health. The learning center s teachers and clinicians are certified by the State of New York. On Our Way is also a New York State-approved evaluation site for children from birth to 5 years of age. It is a part of the NYC Coalition for Children with Special Needs, which is a a statewide alliance that emphasizes the importance of early intervention. On Our Way employs a nurse, special projects organizer, computer and music specialists, social workers, psychologists, and speech, occupational and physical therapists.
