Bharath Groceries

Nice Indian store..i badly needed ready to cook Roti/Paratha an I found all the varieties in this store from Ajwain paratha to kulcha to Naan..it had all the indian groceries right from samosa to Havan samagri :) One stop shop for Indians like me.

There's a great Indian grocery store on the way home from work, so I figure I will pop in and grab a few items--but when I get there I am overwhelmed by the pouches of aromatic spices and the jars of pickles and chutneys. Where to begin?

With The Indian Grocery Store staff been so helpful aisle by aisle, shelf by shelf. I Started with the rice aisle and learn the differences between basmati, gobindavog, red patni, and several others.I Learnt which rice goes best with what type of recipe, how to prepare it, and what it should taste like. Then I head down the flour aisle (here's where I learn how to bake several variations of naan and the popular pappadum), to the spices and seasonings. "Without spices,", "one cannot even imagine Indian food." I made it sure to stock up on the cardamom, cumin, coriander, black pepper, tamarind, and turmeric. Mosey down to the herbs, then on to fruits and vegetables where I was introduced to the sakriya, a small vine-grown yam, and the sweet-and-sour woodapple, indigenous to the Indian jungle.



All in all it is so convenient, definitely a place to checkout.
