St. Luke's Clinics

As a recent patient of St. Luke's Orthopedics Department, I was mildly pleased with my surgeon who appeared to be attentive to needs though at times, and probably due to the number of common knee surgeries, I did feel like just a number as he rushed through a hurried bed side conversation. Moreover, in a follow up call I had more concerns; unfortunately the doctor was not available - rather referred me to another medical person to answer my questions. What has happened to Doctor - Patient concerned care? Also, while recovering in my rom I was very dissatisfied with the assigned Physical Therapist. ..who frequently appeared late for therapy. Also, because the room was somewhat uncomfortable, I had asked her twice for a room fan that never came. But my biggest concern is calling Orthopedic Associates of Duluth, and was very disappointed with the way the person who answered the phone was very unhelpful with my requests to speak with my surgeon. This happened on two occasions and is my firm opinion this person has no business working in customer service. I am in need of a second surgery in my other knee and seriously considering going elsewhere. Moreover referring others to St. Luke's hospital might be difficult given the front end customer service approach which is the anchor for ongoing service's and puts a face on the hospital. There is nothing more important than that first contact you have with any company or organization that can steer one's view.
