My family and myself have had a horrible time with their TLP program. Specifically their Walworth county division. The fact that you are able to be placed in a home for upwards of a year, sometimes (very rarely) a bit more than a year is fantastic. The Downside is that you have a case manager that comes to your home every week and does nothing more than make suggestion to you and your family about how to find an actual place of your own all the while they demand of you to do certain things like show proof that your making progress with your financial position, pove that oyou are looking for your own place to live so that you can "Graduate" from their program early. these thngs are okay and I have been able to deal with them. the things that suck are When your Case manager or her boss make a suggestion to you and you decide that that suggestion is not for you or your family so you choose not to do it. They take that choice s a mark against you and hold it against you for the remainder of your stay in their program. I have done everything that they have requested of me and I still have not been able to find a place on my own. my term is up and they now have decided that we (My family and I) are not worth helping. We were told at the outset that we wold be able to have the option of renting the home we are in when our stay ni the program is up. They Lied to us. Right to our faces. And we did not find out until we only had 2 weeks left in the rogram. Now we have nowhere to go. I am Married and Have 4 children. They have some great programs. YET, BEWARE THAT THEY WILL LIE TO YOUR FACE AND FEEL NO GUILT ABOUT DOING SO. NOR DO THEY FEEL ANY REMORSE FOR DOING SO. BE VERY WARY WHILE DEALING WITH THEM. AND THIS INCLUDES THEIR HOMELESS SHELTER KNOWN AS "TWIN OAKS SHELTER FOR THE HOMELESS" BE VERY WARY!!!
