Davie Battery & Alternator

This place is the worst!!!!!! Jim, the owner, seems like a stand up guy but definitely not a man of his word. My husband and I took our truck over there to see if they could plug in the machine to see what was wrong with the truck. Jim, very nicely, came and plugged it in and told us what was wrong with the truck and told us to drop it off and leave it for a few hours so he could let us know what is wrong with the truck. It was 4:00 pm and I still had not received a call, knowing they closed at 5pm I gave them the call and the receptionist told me that the vehicle hadn't even been looked at. I called again at 4:58pm and was able to speak to Jim himself. He mentioned to me what the problem was and told me he would give me a call tomorrow morning once more diagnostics were done and give me a price. Then came the morning, and still no call. My husband called at 11:30 am, since he hadn't received a call and was told that Jim took the throttle apart and cleaned it and did all these things and now the price to get an after market price was over $400 and the diagnostic which was to be $45, now was $176 be he chose to do extra things that were not approved by either of us. I then called myself and Jim was explaining very thoroughly what he did and I was grateful but I stopped him to ask why weren't we asked before he did all this and then decide to upcharge us? He then got rude and said fine pay me the $45 and get the car then. Disrespectful! for all of you who like coming here, I hope you aren't being ripped off.

Back in October I had to get a new battery .. today (Friday 4/22/16) I Got in my car to go to the Dr. and had a dead battery.. when I got back and called Davie Battery, they were closing in just 2 hrs and I had no way to get the battery to them so they came and jumped my car, even though that is not part of my service. They are no longer open on Saturday so I was so grateful they took the time to make time for me knowing I would need my car to pick up my meds!

I have to start with a funny story.. I am walking from my vehicle and Jim(owner) is predicting the type of starter in my hand.. I could not believe he could see that far and be so right.. To make a long story short, I was in and out within a few minutes and with about 70% more money in my pocket. That was based an outboard motor shop estimated what it would cost me to fix.. The repair took about 10 minutes total and the starter worked perfectly... A big shout out to Jim and his team for exceptional service at a value... .

I have no idea what the last review (01/29/2015) was talking about. Jim is an honest, caring business man who always helps people with their cars, trucks and any type of vehicle. I have seen him leave to help a student across the street at Broward College and is always going above and beyond the call of duty. I highly recommend the business.

Jim's promises are not met. Does not keep appointments outside shop. Does not keep accurate records of work performed on alternators. Fails in communication with customers.

I've been getting my cars serviced here for at least 5 years. I moved here from Pittsburgh 10 years ago. After about 4-5 years of going to places and being ripped off, bad service cheap parts, didnt fix the issue.... We found Jim!!!! Jim has since been keeping are cars on the road. Jim's prices are good, your car will actually be fixed and he and his gang are not sketchy. It's a great place that you can feel confident that your issue with your car is now in good hands and will be taken care of and fixed. It gives me peace to know that even though it took a while to find them, Davie Battery and Alternator is the only place I have peace when I drop my car off. Thank God for you guys!!!! JV
