I had my hair done by Michael a few weeks ago. My hair was long, permed and in a knotted tangled mess and I needed some serious help. I actually had 2 different appointments with Michael, where we figured out what our course of action would be. He hooked me up with an awesome layered haircut that I absolutely love! My hair is in such better shape and I couldn't be happier. Michael is very friendly, accommodating and is just hands-down professional. I enjoyed the time I spent there and am looking forward to my next appointment.



The salon itself is impeccably clean and organized, and everybody there is so friendly. The hair care products aren't from commercialized producers, and they all smell wonderful (well the ones Michael used on my hair that is). I would highly recommend this salon and Michael's expertise. You won't be disappointed.

When I called I expected to wait for an appointment but was given one at my convenience the very next day. I am new to Columbus and didn't really know what to expect. To my surprise, I stepped into a clean, well decorated and modern salon and was greeted by the owner, Paul. He is 6' 7" tall, very handsome and has a smile that makes you feel welcome and immediately comfortable in new surroundings. Definitely eye candy wrapped in the Union Jack! Georgina, Paul's sister,, took me right in and we discussed what what my needs were. She is as beautiful as Paul is handsome! Both are very friendly and more than professional. I can't say in words how much I loved what she did for my hair and my ego. I walked in looking like a witch and walked out looking like a princess. I highly recommend this full service salon to anyone and everyone who wants to look their best. Oh, by the way, Paul makes and sells his own line of hair care products that are simply smashing! Paul and his staff are quite simply the best hair-dressers in town. He has colored my hair to natural looks and wild and outrageous looks. He also styles my wifes hair, colors it, and she has never had better looking hair. Georgina is also superb. Both have British accents, great conversational skills, and rather than being bored, I am always excited to return. I love the little things they do for us, like offering hot tea while we wait, the comfy sofas and magazines, greeting us by name and actually remembering our conversations from our last visit. I never feel like I am going to a business, I feel like I am visiting some of my dearest friends. It's almost impossible to find that in any business, but Unkommen Salon is the place I recommend for all my friends when they seek the best experience for their hair needs.

Paul is a genius! Pricier than a lot of places you could go for a haircut, but worth every shilling!

I'm new in the area, just moved here from Fort Bragg and needed to get my hair done. I'm hesitant on who I let touch my hair, but I would highly recommend this place to anyone. It had a great atmosphere with very friendly staff. I had the full attention of one hairdresser, and my hair turned out great!
