I went for a cleaning. I spent almost an hour with the dental hygienist looking in my mouth and trying to sell me one product after another. First, she tried to sell me "teeth guards" because I grind my teeth when I sleep. After repeatedly telling her no, she began to tell me that the dentist may want to cap one of my previous fillings. Again, I pointed out that I wanted to get my teeth cleaned. I was privately thinking that it was the job of the dentist to do the actual "dental exam! Finally, she began to explain that I needed to use an antibacterial wash, because of bacteria in my mouth. Now, I forcefully said that I just wanted to get my teeth cleaned. She left and returned with the dentist! He pointed out that without my using the antibacterial wash, they can not clean my teeth. I said thanks and that I would find another dentist that was not so intent on selling me things that I did not need! I left!
