Great Food, Great Waitress!

The prices are way outta sight. Servings are small also. No atmosphere. Will not be back.

My family eats out a lot, and the first time we went to Benedicts, we had fast friendly service from the second we stepped in the door, my family now returns there every Friday night.

We have eaten here on three separate occasions. The first two times, we had ok experiences. But this third time was the kicker. We found a babysitter and wanted to go out to eat and see a movie, and enjoy a much needed date night. We chose Benedict's because it seemed to be one of the better choices for Coldwater. Plus they said that they could seat us in 15-20 mins. We told them we wanted the dining area instead of the noisy bar pit. Well 45 minutes later they FINALLY called our names to be seated! And THEN she proceeded to lead us into the bar! The tables are set up in the bar as to afford no privacy at all. I told her we wanted the dining area, and the hostess said we'd have to wait another 10 mins to sit in there. We would've walked out right then and there, but we had already invested 45 mins of our time to this place, we figured we might as well wait another 10 mins. We already knew a movie was going to be out of the question because of our lack of time. So finally after waiting 55 mins to be seated, we were led to our table. Imagine our shock when she led us around the corner to the dining area and we saw that more than half the tables were empty! I asked our waitress what was going on? She said that one of the waitresses went into labor that morning,and that another one called in sick that night. I'm thinking, "So!?!" I mean, come on, they had 9 months to find someone to fill in for the pregnant waitress! And the whole restaurant isn't that big to begin with, two waitresses should be able to easily handle the whole dining area. And they had three that night! It was so chaotic in there, the waitress.were literally running back and forth across the room. The manager/owner (?) was the one delivering the food, so the waitresses didn't even have to do that! We were starving by this time. We ordered the shrimp.cocktail for our starter. For $10 we got 6 shrimp to split between us. So then we ordered our food, and had to wait another 30 mins to receive it. We were so extremely ticked by this time, that it was hard to enjoy our night. The food itself was good, but not good enough that we'll ever return. Oh, and let me mention one other thing; I did notice that the waitress that was servicing the bar area had her hair back in a pony tail, but her hair around her ears puffed out, to where, every time she carried a tray of food, and held it up over her shoulder, her hair would go right in the food - talk about gross!
