General Info: You've got so much past ahead of you! Ironworld is the largest museum complex in the region. We're dedicated to collecting, preserving and interpreting the history of Minnesota's Iron Ranges. As the Minnesota iron mining industry exploded at the turn of the century, people seeking economic prosperity and freedom immigrated to northern Minnesota from nations around the globe. These immigrants brought few material goods on their journey, but carried with them rich traditions and customs of their homelands. Ironworld preserves this important period of American history by telling the story of the life, the work, the place and the people of the Iron Range. Tour Ironworld's museum, sample ethnic cuisine, ride a vintage trolley back in time to the historic Glen location and see spectacular views of an open pit mine. Join us on a memorable journey through northeastern Minnesota's history...!
