The Employee Benefits Security Administration is managed by the U.S. Department of Labor. The administration educates and assists more than 150 million people covered by over 695,000 private retirement plans and nearly 2 million health plans. It offers assistance to participants, beneficiaries, employers, plan sponsors and service providers in receiving and providing pension and health benefits. The Employee Benefits Security Administration also conducts educational campaigns. The administration provides compliance assistance, voluntary fiduciary correction and abandoned plan programs. In addition, it handles participant and beneficiary complaints. The administration additionally offers employee stock ownership plans. The Employee Benefits Security Administration provides consumer information programs on health plans.
