The office staff was very knowledgeable and provided courteous service. The treatment was explained to me in great detail and I was completely satisfied with my results. I would highly recommend Dermatology Associates of Northern Virginia for the care that is given to their patients.

I have recently seen both Dr. Mattay and per PA, SongJin Comstock. I have been with Dr. Mattay since 1997, and I absolutely adore her! She may run behind, but she always gives you the care and consideration that you would hope to get from a great doc. SongJin gives PA's a good name! You can always count on her if you can't get in with Dr. Mattay right away, and she always willing to go the extra mile for all of her patients. I have seen most of the docs in the practice, and I haven't had one bad experience with any of them! I recently had a few cosmetic things done, and I couldn't be happier with the results...I wouldn't go anywhere else, and I refer all of my friends and family that need a dermatologist to that practice!

Avoid at all costs. Bad staff, bad doctors. Receptionist is very rude. Billing did not submit my claim to insurance in time & tried to stick me with the bill. Billing lady had slight accent but clearly did not understand english. Dr. Talanin spends very little time with patients & is not concerned about scarring. I have visible scars on my face & so does my husband. I asked the Dr. to biopsy a mole & he said he didn't think it was anything. Turned out to be skin cancer. I asked him to remove a red spot on my face. He stuck a probe in it & charged me $75. The spot returned & spread. It"s rosacea. Asked for Retin-A and a Swedish (??) lady gave me the wrong instructions. Ended up with burns on my face. Learned that the normal dose is 5 times less. When I told Dr. Mattay about it, she made a remark that at least I 'got it over with' (the treatment) quickly. Dr. Mattay is very good w/cosmetics, but is booked 1-2 months out. Seeing her is not worth dealing with the rest of the circus.

I went there in 2009 and they had good service and knowledgeable doctor. They took care of my skin condition with no problems. Also no problems with staff.

Do your self a favor and avoid this place. I don't care if they have a "Top Doctor"; I have to believe there are better practices in Northern VA. The office staff (receptionists, billing, etc) are so unfriendly and unhelpful I wondered if I was stuck in a SNL parody. I tried as a new patient to be seen (unsuccessfully despite having an appointment). I won't try a second time.

Beware of visiting this clinic! I visited them in August 2009 for some skin condition on the face and neck and found out that they are milking you out of your hard earned money at two levels. The skin cream prescribed was priced at $200, yes that is $200 and it did not work anyway. I had to go to another doctor for my treatment later. Also (and this is a bigger scam), they will schedule you for a visit knowing fully well that your insurance may not cover the visit and then send you the bill for the whole amount claiming that the insurance rejected the claim.Save yourself some money and heartburn and stay away from these scamsters!
