We host MedWorks from Birmingham, AL every Tuesday during clinic hours to provide a complete collection of ultrasound imaging services, including cardiac, general, and vascular imaging.

All studies are supervised by one of our physicians, assisted by trained, certified technicians. The nuclear images are interpreted by a cardiologist who has extensive training and experience in nuclear medicine. Our facility offers many in-house services for our patients. We have a full-service, CLIA certified laboratory, state of the art digital x-ray, nuclear cardiac stress testing, bone density scanning, treatment of skin cancer and lesions, pulmonary function testing, medical acupuncture, drug and alcohol screening, as well as routine treatment and monitoring of chronic and acute illnesses. Our doctors specialize in both pediatric and adult care. In addition to these services, we also have weekly orthopedic clinics.

Heel Spurs
Dr. Barton Perry received training in medical acupuncture through the UCLA Department of Family Medicine in 1995. Although there are many types of acupuncture treatment modalities, Dr. Barton relies predominately on a technique called PENS (Percutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation). This process is similar to TENS unit treatments except that needles are inserted 1/2″ – 1″ below the skin surface in the main acupuncture points within the area of treatment, and electrical stimulation is applied at various frequencies. It is felt that by stimulating certain nerves at their junction within the muscle, “pain” nerves can be blocked. Most common conditions treated with this method include: neck and back pains (both chronic and acute), heel spurs, TMJ, headaches, carpal tunnel, neuropathy and joint pains/arthralgia. It can be a very helpful adjunct, if not alternative, to pain and arthritis medications, epidurals, and in patients who would like to postpone elective surgery.
