After looking at my car, the mechanic called a lieutenant from the DMV. She then proceeded to emotionally harass me. "Could you handle killing a child? Could you live with yourself?!" She told me that I needed to let them fix it and that they would work with me on the price if I couldn't afford it. She said "well your not even supposed to be driving a car with bad tags and we can sue you if you get into any form of accident because you came in and we told you that it was unsafe to drive". The brakes were touchy, but were working fine when I drove it into the shop. He gave me my keys said I could go. As I walked out two cop cars pulled up. he called the cops to report me for bad tags and being unsafe to drive. This was shady! EVEN THE COP TOLD ME NOT TO PAY HIM! I had my car towed to another mechanic. That Mechanic described this one as unprofessional and his actions were uncalled for in the eyes of other mechanics and seemed "a bit crazy if he said so himself"

This is a great example of the determination at any cost that we are willing to endure for your safety. This young lady has edited this, after the police contacted her for "not telling the truth" but we have a bad review, here is the synopsis of it. 1. Obviously a very angry young lady, for that, we do apologize. 2. Professional technician states vehicle is unsafe 3. Smarter than us young girl debates facts 4. Young lady lies about key points 5. Refused to repair 6. North Carolina department of motor vehicles informed her driving was unsafe 7. I inform her vehicle not safe 8. She states herself, she was leaving in her car, when police don't let her drive, because it was unsafe 9. She works for a local Internet advertising company DEX MEDIA she uses profanity and cannot be honest in details, so either DEX MEDIA is a company that doesn't care about the quality of their employees, or doesn't pay them well enough to at least drive a car that is safe 10. We have multiple, in excess of 7, of these reviews across the Web 11. WHAT SHE DOESN'T SAY, IS WE OFFERED TO PAY FOR THE TOW TO WHEREVER SHE WANTED, BECAUSE WE WERE INCAPABLE OF PLEASING HER, WE ALSO DIDN'T CHARGE HER THE AGREED UPON AMOUNT OR ANY AT ALL, WE ALSO FILLED HER BRAKE FLUID UP BECAUSE IT WAS COMPLETELY EMPTY, WE ALSO BLED THE AIR FROM THE FRONT BRAKES TO TRY TO ENSURE SHE MADE IT TO WHEREVER SHE WAS GOING 11. I was so scared for my employee, that we didn't drive the vehicle out from the bay, WE PUSHED IT! 12. We called the dmv because inspectors across the country are being arrested for an almost exact same scenario. Google it. We wanted to know how to protect ourselves in the event of an imminent accident. 13. We didn't want the work, we told her we wouldn't do it, how is that manipulation? 14. Second sentence in she states she was going to drive off and fix it herself! Autozone told her it was leaking brake fluid from the power booster ( fyi power brake boosters don't have fluid in them!) 15. We were told that she drives from us, downtown cary, to rtp back and forth, and only has to put a bottle of brake fluid in it at a time. 16. Vehicle license plates expired in December of 15, according to dmv, why would that matter to us? 17. Even if the brakes were fixed, it surely would have failed a state inspection due to the SEVERE exhaust leak, so again, what were we trying to manipulate her into doing And finally, we , again, truly felt we were helping her avert a major tragedy! So the moral of the story is, regardless of the agony of having to deal with people of this caliber, we work tirelessly to ensure your safety. We want her to be safe, hope her car is fine, glad she didn't injure herself or others. WE REFUSE TO DO A HALF WAY JOB BECAUSE YOU ASK US TO. We want everyone, even you lacey, to be safe and sound. As professionals, it is our duty. Please keep in mind, if you come in with a cracked, rusted brake line that is soon to rupture, or a threads showing in your tires, or ANY other issue that we feel may injure yourself, others, my friends, my family or any other living thing or person, WE WILL do everything we can to express to you the magnitude and potential consequences of your decisions when we feel it is a matter of life or limb. As professionals, honesty, integrity and the ability to make hard decisions, however painful they may be, is what you choose us and pay us for. Thank you lacey for this review, we feel it is the epitome of what you receive when you choose My Mechanic for your auto repair needs. God bless

I am really just shocked and can't believe how many people are calling this guy honest. I am selling my car and brought it in with a prospective buyer. He told her there had been an accident in the last 3 months. What? The car has barely even been driven in the last 3 months, so I was completely surprised! I have no idea what his motivation was to lie and embarrass me by basically calling me a liar as if I am trying to scam someone. Maybe he's trying to sell her one of his cars? Absolute fraud. I've never experienced anything like this. I still can't believe I even have to write this!

Sir, I am sorry that you feel that the we were in some way dishonest with you. I had asked you a question about an obvious repair on the front end of your vehicle, that you were selling. the reason I believed there was an accident, was because of the broken welds, rusted crossmember, crushed attachment points and missing bolts and the fact that the welds that were there had rust on them, all on the lower radiator core support of your car. I made no suggestion to our customer as to whether or not to buy the car or not, you used profanity screamed and yelled and stormed out, telling your prospective buyer "screw him, don't buy the car". She was actually frustrated, because as i stated prior, the car was in fairly good shape and would have been a good car for her to own. She had every intention of purchasing the vehicle. The problem with honesty, sir, is it doesn't discriminate. You may not like what the answer, or truth, is, but it is still the truth. We do not sell cars, we repair them. I apologize that you had a bad experience, had you paid anything, i would gladly refund your money. We have won the Angie's List Super Service Award for 2 years straight, i promise you that I and we, take customer satisfaction seriously. It is paramount to our business. If there is anything we can do to help you feel better about your experience here, please let us know, I would be glad to help. The woman that was trying to purchase your car continues to use our services, and we welcome you to do the same. Again, I apologize that you feel we were dishonest in any way, please give us opportunity to make it up to you.

Really Honest Service, Good People

I came in and got my car fixed with Chad. He was really nice and good natured and listened to my problem with unending patience. He had five other calls while he was talking to me but kept coming back to me. I felt very comfortable taking my car there, like I was in God's hands. The service was excellent and its hard to find people you can trust around here these days. These people are great people.
