Bob baker is a joke the customer service is the worst other dealership care about the customer service, neil the internet manager is a worst person in the dealership i dont know how they stay in business. 9 out 10 customer is not happy please do not shop from bakers at all go out to other dealership and save a lots of money.

I just purchased a new 2010 Mazda3 here after visiting many dealerships in Carlsbad. I was impressed with the lack of haggling required to get the price I wanted. They kept the costs low and were very helpful and informative! Ask for Patrick if you go on a day he works, he was a pleasure to work with.

I spent 7 hours and drove 80 miles over the last two days trying to buy a car from Bob Baker Jeep, Chrysler, Mazda of Carlsbad. I am way worse off than i was before i started on this ordeal. I tried to take advantage of the "cash for clunkers" program and got burned.

1st lie: they told me was that they had the car i was looking for. when we went to go see it it was is some near by, off site parking lot where they keep the extra inventory. Turns out they got the car from another dealership in the Cerritos area so by the time they got it to carlsbad it had 250 miles on it.

2nd serries of lies: They showed me an invoice with an option on it, for an additional $300, over the the price we agreed upon, that got me to the dealership in the first place. when the car arrived the option was not on the vehicle. The salesman told my girlfriend it had to be activated by headquarters, but it was never even installed on the car.

3rd today they told me the car was being detailed and upon inspection i found water spots on the chrome, the motor was dirty, some dirt on the outside of the car, the intake had like black greasy grime on it.

These are the main things that pissed me off....

I was ready to buy the car. I had a blank check from the bank. I told them I was not happy with all the lies they were telling me and asked them what they were going to do to make me happy. their reply was nothing. at that point i got up to walk out but could not because they had to refund the $3000 we had put down the day before and give me back my title but they could not locate it.

4th I had my girlfriend co-sign with me to try and get a better apr and they changed her to the buyer without telling us then later tried to say it made no difference.

These cats are hella shady, on some say one thing but do another ish. If you are planning on buying a vehicle from them make sure you do your homework. i got got and i hope it doesnt happen to you. i am going to contact the BBB and try and talk to Chris Baker as well as the NHTSA whatever that is.

oh, did i mention i had already fully insured the new vehicle and spent all day tearing the surf racks, navigation, back-up camera, dvd, speakers, rally horn, tv in the rear view mirror, fuzz buster, ect. my car is all taken apart and i have to be at work at 7am tomorrow.
