Medical Weight Loss
Your arms appear larger with age, weight gain or a significant weight loss as the skin begins to sag. This is very evident if you raise your arm and see sagging skin and/or excess fat. When this is the case, brachioplasty may be an option to remove excess skin and fat resulting in more defined upper arms.
Primary Care
Prior to breast reduction surgery, there is some preparation in terms of making sure you are in good overall health. This may involve bloodwork and a clearance for surgery from your primary care physician. Also, if you take any blood thinning medications or supplements, you may be asked to stop taking those for up to two weeks prior to the procedure as well as a week following the procedure to allow the healing process to begin and to avoid excess bleeding and bruising.
Smoking Cessation
You’ll have a private, personal consultation with Dr. Diaz prior to making any decisions regarding surgery. It’s important for you to be very open and honest with the doctor in answering his questions regarding your health, previous medical history, your goals and your current lifestyle. Smoking cessation, including all nicotine products, gums, patches and vapor cigarettes, must be stopped a minimum of 3 weeks prior and 3 weeks after your surgery. You are also not allowed to be around any passive nicotine products for 3 weeks after surgery.

You may be a candidate for blepharoplasty if you have excess skin on your upper or lower lids that gives you a very tired and irritated appearance. On the upper eyelids, it is quite possible that your vision may be affected as well.
