Big Spring Junior High School is a part of the Big Spring Independent School District. The school has a library and media center that provides a variety of study materials to enhance the curriculum, as well as the learning needs and styles of all students. Big Spring Junior High School offers educational and extracurricular programs to students in grades seven and eight. The school provides academic instruction in language arts, math, science, social studies, art, music, reading and computer technology. In addition, Big Spring Junior High School has the English as a Second Language department that provides classes to non-English speaking students. The school has a team of guidance counselors who address academic, personal, social and career development needs of students. Big Spring Junior High School also offers advanced placement programs in statistics, computer science, biology, chemistry, physics, astronomy, aquatic science and environmental systems.
