Overall
Pretty Pleased

My wife and I bought three of our last four cars there. The only problem we had was waiting until they came down to our price. The people have been courteous and professional. The cars we've purchased have last with proper maintanence.

Overall
Honda CR-V purchase

We were dreading the car buyng experience--too many bad experiences with less than honest car salesmen in the past and the entire negotiation process--but we were lucky enough to work with Kevin, and he made all the difference in the world--he is absolutely the best salesman with whom we have ever dealt. He was forthright, knowledgeable, sincere, and made the negotiations as painless as possible. The biggest problem we had was with the paper work (not so knowledgeable person in the finance dept that cost us a lot of time and multiple trips to resolve), but the General Manager made it his priority to resolve the problem quickly when we got him involved. We love the car and will return to the dealer in the future--we hope that Kevin is available the next time we buy a car! We give the entire experience 4 1/2 stars (1/2 star deducted for the paper work fiasco)

I was scammed! I feel dirty

THIS IS A REVIEW OF THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT

A bit of intro, our Honda has been taken to Honda of Bellevue for many years for oil changes, regular maintenance services, and they always did a outstanding job.

HOWEVER!!! There was a smell coming from the car that I concluded was a cooling issue, because the radiator fan never came on. Note that prior to taking the car in, there was NO OTHER PROBLEM besides a slight smell. Being cautious, I took the car in to have them check the fan. They proceed to tell me the fan is fine, but the OIL PAN Gasket is leaking onto the exhaust manifold, so they want to replace the oil gasket. This seemed fishy to me, because I never detected ANY leak whatsoever, and they seemed to be unhappy because of an aftermarket oil filter (Sorry, Honda, for changing my own oil sometimes) but because of my track record with them, I trusted them to go about their work. $260 to replace oil gasket.

When I get the car back, there is now SUBSTANTIAL leaking of oil. I took the car back and told them that they did a shoddy job replacing the oil gasket and demanded that they fix it. Now they tell me that OIL is leaking from the Engine to the transmission through a faulty seal. So now they want to take apart the block and reseal it for $600+. This is pure BS, there was ZERO leak before I took it in. Now they are telling me that there were TWO leaks, one from the oil pan gasket, (which they presumably fixed), and one from the engine, yet before they touched the car, there was NO SIGN of ANY fluid leaking.

What scammers, liers, to fraudulantly manipulate this situation upon a very loyal customer of over ten years. I am very disappointed and I highly recommend everyone TO AVOID THEM AT ALL COSTS. They will scam you. If I could give them negative stars, I would

Summary

1. Car taken in for burning smell, suspected radiator fan malfunction, NO LEAKS PRESENT

2. Honda determines fan is fine, but they say oil pan gasket is leaking oil onto exhaust manifold. Replace oil pan gasket, $260

3. Car leaks oil immediately after driving off service lot

4. Honda determines that a seal is faulty between engine and transmission, want $600+ to fix

5. Customer says "Screw you guys, i'm going home."

Hello 'Selicas', I am the General Manager at Honda Auto Center and just today stumbled across your 'review'. First, i want to thank you for being our long term 10 year customer and for saying 'they always did a outstanding job'.....until this time. At Honda Auto Center we have many ways customers can communicate with us. They can speak to us face to face, leave a letter, mail us a letter, e-mail us or complain to another agency who would then contact us. If any of these methods are used then we have systems in place to respond to any customer's concerns, try to solve the problem, and consider the information in trying to improve. Some of these 'problems' allow us to train our people to do better next time. In this case; until i saw your review here our company had no idea of your concerns and frustrations; and even after reading about your experiences; i do not know anything about your specific repair order. I tried to look up your name in our service files but i come up blank. I am simply powerless to respond to your situation without more information. While it is possible that you did communicate your concerns with us at the time there is no record of any similar situation in December 2007 or January 2008. If i had to respond to what you have written without any other information (which would involve lots of guessing on my part) i would say that you have an older, quite high milage car with lots of things that may be wearing out at the same time. So if you bring it to us and describe a problem; it is more than likely that there may be three or four marginal systems involved in the symptom; we may repair the most obvious one; but others remain. Diagnosing a car with high milage is a crap shoot to some degree. My above guess is just that; it would be much better to be able to look at the facts and respond to you. The world wide web is a wonderful thing and allows people to say what they think; hopefully in this case it will also cause a dialogue to open between our previously satisfied (but now upset) customer and our company that hopefully will result in a positive conclusion. We are the largest volume Honda dealership in the northwestern US (9 states). We just won Honda's President's Award for sales and service customer satisfaction (one of only three dealers out of seventeen in our district to win it). We take our customer's concerns very seriously. Salicas; i invite you to contact me and look forward to it.
