Dr. Rukshan R Azhar, MD

I’ve been seeing Dr. Azhar for over a year now. Prior to that I was a patient in the county mental health system in which my doctor was an automaton who did little listening and a lot of medication increases. I cannot believe the stark contrast in doctors after finding Dr. Azhar! Dr. Azhar is kind, attentive, knowledgeable, empathetic and takes time to listen! She is conservative and careful with changing or adding prescriptions.

She recently wanted me to get into inpatient and/or intensive outpatient treatment. After having trouble with both the facility that my insurance takes and a nightmare with my insurance itself I was shocked when Dr. Azhar advocated on my behalf with both! She took the time out of her busy schedule to help me (one of her many patients) get the care I needed! This was beyond going the “extra mile”. I couldn’t believe that a doctor in this broken down health care system took the time to get on the phone with both my insurance and the facility. These things have made such a difference in my mental health. I’m truly grateful I found Dr. Azhar.
