Joni and Tony have been happily married for over twenty years. They met while Tony was earning his Bachelor of Science and Master of Social Work and Joni was earning her Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy from Western Michigan University. They have two teenage sons, Trenton and Trevor, who attend Saginaw Valley State University and Essexville Garber. Throughout their careers at Saginaw Valley State University and McLaren Bay Region they served, educated and helped to protect others. In his 13 years at SVSU, Tony enjoyed empowering students in the classroom; coaching, consulting and guiding students as the Director of Counseling and Health Services; and encouraging co-curricular engagement as the Assistant Dean for Student Life and Leadership Programs.
