Dr. Brian Allen completed his undergraduate studies at Michigan State University in 2001, earning a B.S. in Kinesiology, and went on to receive his Doctor of Chiropractic in 2005 at National University of Health Sciences. Dr. Allen has received additional training specific to sports injuries and functional rehabilitation, including earning distinction as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist. He serves as the team chiropractor for the Chicago White Sox and Chicago Blackhawks. In addition, he is the ART specialist for the Rockford IceHogs. From 2006 to 2008, Dr. Allen served as the team chiropractor for varsity sports at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County. Outside of the office, he enjoys roaming Downtown Chicago, where he resides, summer excursions to Michigan, and training and competing in half-Ironman triathlons.

Therapeutic Modalities Our chiropractic services in IL include a variety of other techniques utilized by the doctors to provide care to their patients. These techniques are used to complement the main techniques performed by the chiropractors. Electrical stimulation is a method to assist with pain control and relaxation of spastic muscles. Another modality is cervical decompression therapy, also called traction, which helps to provide relief of neck pain. It gently stretches the spine, relieving pressure off of the discs, joints and surrounding muscles. The treatment can help alleviate symptoms originating from herniated discs, nerve pain down the shoulder or arm, or degenerative disc disease. Also, the doctors may use a cold laser. This uses light energy to stimulate tissue healing, increased circulation, reduce inflammation, and decrease pain. It is beneficial is acute injury setting to control inflammation, such as an acute ankle sprain. We also offer acupuncture services in our IL office.
