The Soccer Corner

I recently went to the soccer corner, and I couldn't be happier. I came in it was busy, but the employees found time to find my rather specific request. My kids are huge EPL fans, and they have a great selection of gear that my kids will no doubt love. They held a pair of Nike Mercurial CR7 Superflys for me, and since with the holidays coming up, I sure am thrilled they did so. Love this place!!! Wish they had more locations, because it beats going anywhere else locally.

Yesterday evening, my family and I went to the Soccer Corner store located in Arlington, TX. We were not greeted and we received little to no assistance. After asking for a specific size for a pair of cleats, the one employee who we came in contact with had no interest in attempting to check for the size in the back. To be detailed and descriptive, the young man chewed his gum and rubbed his beard while saying “I don’t know if we have that”. In case it wasn't understood as to what we were asking for, we asked if the young employee could show us which cleats the store DID have. Again, his response while chewing gum and pointing broadly “Maybe some of these or only these”.



This may be an acceptable attitude in this work place. However, I would suggest in a customer service industry, the employees should to do their best to satisfy the customer’s needs. For example: In the same situation, a better approach would have been, and was expected to, to respond with “I’m not sure if we have your size in these specific pairs of cleats, but let me check in the back” or “I know we don’t carry these in your size, but here is a couple of pair that I know we do have”.



This store has great quality merchandise and it’s truly a shame that the employees there could not match that same sort of quality. My family and I browsed the store with the intentions of purchasing a couple of items: outdoor soccer cleats, new set of shin guards, and a couple of new Chelsea F.C. jerseys. We left with none of these items due to the poor customer service.
