Caroline's Cakes

We are planning my sisters wedding, and we are still in the early stages. I had seen someone post about it recently so I decided to stop in to pick up a few cupcakes to try. We LOVE gourmet cupcakes and we've tried many local places. In addition to cupcakes I also purchased a cake pop. The cake pop was delicious, but a little overpriced. I was extremely disappointed in the cupcakes. We actually threw out what was left after several people tried them. The frosting was disgusting, it was like eating crisco with a bit of a sugar. The texture was awful, and the coloring on the frosting just made it worse. It was all over everyone's hands like permanent marker. I always buy cakes and cupcakes from shops like this one because I think that grocery store cakes are gross. The cupcakes from here made grocery store quality look quite appetizing. I don't ever mind spending the extra money at gourmet bakeries, but I was really mad I wasted 25$ here. Save yourself the disappointment, head to Jojo's, Bella Luna or sweethearts patisserie.

My Mom received as a gift one of Caroline's caramel 7-layer birthday cakes with the chocolate polka dots. OMG Delicious! Slice it thin, because it's so rich that a thin slice will flood your mouth with flavor. Not for the diet-conscious, but a great gift.

For those who dont know...carolines has a deli. There cakes look good but don't order their food! They charge way to much and there food is cheap! There cream of crab has only vegtables u may find a string of crab meat. Their eggs are never done and they are soaking in water. They give you 3 slices for a half of a Quesadilla. Everyone i know said they wouldnt go back. So i just wouldnt reccomend this food to anyone, save your money!
