I brought in a silver watch that stopped working, had been in my jewelry box for a long time. I brought the watch and a gold chain with gold crucifix with a broken with missing ring to run the chain through. Both items were repaired in a timely manner and at a reasonable price. My hubby was pleased to be able to wear his crucifix again! Re: the watch, the stem came out into my hand when I tried to change the time during daylight savings time. The watch is back in the jewelry box. I hadn't contacted the shop regarding the issue.

DEAR Ms. Christina LoderI am sorry to communicate this message to you via Facebook, but I have no other contact information for you. Having returned from the weekend, I was saddened to read your social media posting and campaign regarding your mother’s stones that she left at my store in 2015 for whatever reason. We are so sorry to hear about your loss, your mother was a very sweet women. Unfortunately in our situation we cannot just hand items over to anyone who walks up stating that they want their mother’s things. As you nor your stepfather provided any identification—nor anything else that connected you to your mother. Good business practice compelled us to decline your request for the property that you could demonstrate no legitimate claim to. Unfortunately, we sometimes encounter people who try to claim property which is not their own. For protection of all of our customers as well as our business, we must guard against such fraudulent conduct. We would hope that you would understand this policy. We are very saddened how things have turned out, I’m sure this is not what your mother intended. If you would be good enough to provide us with evidence of your mother’s sadly passing as well as next to kind or head of her estate, I will be only too happy to return the stones your mother left with me to you.Again we are very sorry, and pray that your family will find peace. With our condolences,Mark and Michelle MocciaThe Jeweler

My mother was a jewelry fanatic and over the years has made her own jewelry as well as collected loose stones to have pieces made. I'm guessing at some time frames here but over a year ago, she took a lot of her loose stones to Mark Maccio the owner of the store and had a couple of pieces made. Well she left them there and told him he could choose some he liked and she'd get the rest. I didn't know he still had them until she mentioned around Thanksgiving that he still had them and she needed to go back up and get them. Her health started to go down hill around this time and she never made it back up or called (not that I think it would have made a difference). Richard went up yesterday and asked for them and he refused and said mom gave them to him. I went up today and wasn't quite as nice. He told me the stones weren't going anywhere. I told him she said you could have some, not all. He told me she should have called or come up. I told him I told her that but her health dictated otherwise. I told him I'd would let everyone know how he took advantage of her kindness. He then had the nerve to say it was us taking advantage of her death. Needless to say that didn't go over well and told me to get out of his store. My mother was trusting to a fault and never thought people wouldn't do what they said..this man knows damn well she didn't offer him all of them. This is purely a principal issue, as we would just have given them to someone who love and appreciate them. Richard has asked me to let this go, so I will and I know mom would want me too as well. This is not an honest person and took advantage of a woman who was too kind and trusting.

Boyd Jewelers
My wife and I have been going to Boyd Jewelers for the past 2.5 years ever since we moved here to San Antonio FL. They are always extremely pleasant and they always do a wonderful job on our ring and watch repair. They always have a great selection of beautiful jewelry. Their prices are very fair and after initially trying two other jewelers who were located a bit closer to us we soon discovered that Dan, Jeff and the entire staff at Boyd Jewelers were well worth the ride. I'm now in my mid sixties and I can honestly say this is one of the nicest jewelry stores I've ever done business with.
