Filed on : June 25 2012Filed by : Samantha GlassFiled against : La Quinta InnsComplaint Description:I was charged and slandered by this business with no notification La Quinta Inn & Suites Woodway - Waco South 6003 Woodway Dr Waco, Texas 76712 I checked in 6/24/12 out 6/25/12 ,Was asked if wanted to use credit card I reserved with I replied no,I paid cash I noticed later that day I was charged 250.00 additional dollars. I called asked why when I paid cash. Was told by George once he looked up that I was charged because someone smoked in room. I was taken back , for I choose this hotel over the other one on 9th street that was closer to the venue I was to present at in that small town because of the 100% No Smoking, I DO NOT SMOKE. I asked George why I was not contacted before charged, he stated I should have been, the cleaning person said I smoked so they charged me. I asked to speak to a manager or owner he replied manager not there til next morning. How do we know an employee wasn't taking "smoke break" or loaning room out. I am very offended that someone can slander me charge me without notification or proof of me smoking. If they are going to do that they need to be like the rental car industry that has a person go into room with you upon check in check for damage and/or smoke, and upon check out someone come to room to check in your presence so if there is allegations and charges against you you are there and can see why. I am a business owner and percieve this is an attempt for a small town fairly empty newer hotel to get some extra money. I was never notified of any such fees. Its not so much the money , for God blesses me always, it's more the principal and slander. Would also like to add I am pregnant and would never neglect my unborn child in that way. If they are going to charge the charges they need to have a better system than someone saying, that is hear say she say.
