My most recent experience with them was awful. Took our 2003 Volkswagen Passat in for a water leak. They looked at it for 15 minutes. They quote my wife 287.00 to repair a "water pipe" and they don't have one in stock, so they order it.The name of the part is a cooling hose flange.said tomorrow it should be ready. Next day my wife asks if it will be ready by 5pm? person on the phone says "yea if things don't keep breaking"my wife arrives and goes in and asks what the damage is The price has gone up, like double 571.00 now. He explains that there are pieces that broke that needed replacing, it took a lot of extra work plus parts. couldn't replace just the vacuum check valve (5 bucks at autozone) they needed to buy the breather hose for the PCV as well (35.00 dollar part marked up to 129.50).I examine parts "that just broke?" Realize they looks mangled. I see that several of them didn't even need replacing! They were both air related pieces having nothing to do with the water system. They lied and said they had to remove the "plenum" I assume he meant the correct terminology "air intake manifold". Even so if you do this repair slowly and carfuly you won't break a lot of extra parts in the process. Two things now that really got me, one they broke the dipstick holder which easily pulls right out(and should have been before the repair started ). Two they couldn't figure out how to open a VW Radiator hose clam. When we went to check the repairs under the hood the hood strut was busted. It worked fine before but they busted a hood strut? So I ask if they can make it right? They still haven't made It right, but that's ok I protested in front of their business today and I'll do It again. I've also filed a complaint with the BBB. I may never see a dime of my money back but I love seeing these guys lose money from potential customers. Avoid like the plague, don't go here unless you like being ripped off or have money to burn.
In June of this year I was moving to Northern California from the Seattle area, driving my 92 Dodge van and pulling a U-Haul trailer and my van was overheating the whole way. I ended up stopping in Woodburn and was lucky enough to find Woodburn Automotive. From the first moment I was dealt with honestly and fairly, explaining my situation and the trouble I was having. To make a very long story short, I ended up leaving my van and proceeding to my new job in a U-Haul truck. After almost 4 months I finally made arrangements to have the van delivered to me in Folsom, east of Sacramento, and the good folks at Woodburn Auto motive kept my van safe and secure and never charged me a dime for storage. Traveling 800 miles to start a new job with limited resources, I could have been totally taken advantage of by a dishonest repair shop but instead I received the tops in customer service. I highly recommend Woodburn Automotive to anyone in that area or to any travellers up or down I-5 who run into trouble.
Thank You! Thank You! After getting stranded on I-5 on Friday, October 31, it was comforting to have our car in your knowledgeable hands the following morning. We want to thank you for the excellent service you provided, both to us and our vehicle. It is amazing that one broken alternator belt can cause such chaos, but you and your staff gave peace back to our drive. Thank you for getting us back on our way home so quickly! All the luck for the little lady we've come to love for who she was and is; she went through an adult life at her very young age. Let's hope the remission is forever -- God Bless!!
Thank you so much for all the help you provided to us! It was rough finding out that our van/home wsn't going to make it but everyone did everything they could to make it easier for us to move forward. We really appreciate the kindness. Maybe we can return the favor someday :). Meredith
