Sears Appliance Repair
We did not know who to call for a washing machine repair but I would definitely use these people again. The repair part of this visit was great, diagnosed and repaired in about 1 hour even though the problem was not what we thought. My issues were with the office: When I called on Monday they said they could schedule us for Wed. which was good but the window was 8 - 5. Not a good window for most people unless you have nothing to do but sit and wait and since the item to be repaired was 30 minutes away from our house that was a big issue. They did tell me I could check on the day of to see where we were on the list. On the day of I got up at 6:30 and started trying to check and had some issues with that, I finally got a pop up chat around 7:30 and that person checked and said we were on the list for about 10:00. We started making plans to arrive a little after 9:00 when the phone rings and the repair man has ARRIVED and its 8:00 !!! We had to call an emergency stand in to delay going to work and run over and be there with the repair man. In the end it worked out but it would have been nice if the scheduling could have been a easy as the repair.

Rich, the repair technician, came originally on the 13th for an annual appliance check-up. There was a problem, he determined what was needed to fix it, arranged for the parts to be delivered to my home and set up the appointment for the 23rd. On the 23rd, he appeared, did the repair, cleaned up after himself and left with a cheery 'good-bye'. He was great! And the refrigerator is doing it's job!

Midway Appliance Service
My fridge's icemaker pump went out & was leaking all over our hardwoods. Called midway and they were here in 2 hours. The repairman (Sam) did not have part in stock but promised to install it the next day. Later on in the afternoon he got the part and came back over and installed so I would not have to wait another day. Quick service and reasonable costs - highly recommended!

Excellent service! They arrived on time and fixed my dryer at a very reasonable price (compared to a few other places I called). They even vaccuumed the area where I kept my dryer while they had it pulled out for repair.

They go out of their way to help find a part that you need, plus they are extremely polite. Made me proud to talk to the 'old school' of dealing with a potential customer.

Repair person was very personable and knowledgeable. Very satisfied and would give an excellent rating. Price is steep but apparently all are,
Tips & Advices
Aftermarket replacement parts can be perfectly safe and reliable, but be sure to do your research. If replacing a more integral piece, such as washing machine’s water pump or a thermostat for a busted water heater, it might be best to purchase new.
Replacement parts generally come with warranties extending anywhere from 30 days to five years, depending on the original price, the nature of the fix and the age of the part itself.
If you’re seeking new parts repair companies will generally mark up their prices slightly--particularly at a major national retailer. However, used parts are typically discounted.
Cheaper used appliance parts can be found online or at many local, independently owned retailers, along with ecommerce sites such as eBay. Major retailers, however, generally limit their selection to unused, full-priced options.
Second-hand appliance parts are generally anywhere between 50-75% cheaper than new ones, but warranties might not extend as long and the parts may be less reliable or come with a shorter lifespan. Be sure to research the source of any second-hand parts to ensure the dealer is reputable and the part itself reliable.
