Merchant's Tire and Auto Service Center
This place is a joke. I took my vehicle there to have the air conditioning repaired. Was told it would cost $300. I sat for 2 hours waiting for it to be fixed only to later be informed that the wrong part was ordered. I was then charged $900!!! Sooo. I sat even longer. It was going on 5 o'clock....I had been sitting at this place since 9am!!!! One of the workers decides he wants to take me home. Alright? So now I'm stranded at home. The next day. I sit at home until one o'clock and I am then told that they ordered the wrong part again??? $1,200 this time! What the actual hell? I wasted 2 days. One sitting at Merchant's and one stranded at home without a vehicle! When I told them I should be compensated for my time wasted they looked at me like I was speaking jibberish.Do not go here. Unless you have money to waste.

Frank's Auto Service
Small-town, honest auto repair. His son seems to be in the same mold- upfront pricing, lets you know how long the job will take, etc. VERY reasonable in diagnosing the problem w my car's AC.Perhaps this might not matter to some, but I was impressed by the fact that 1 of their mechanics is deaf. Large corporate chains would likely never give the poor guy a chance, but he's now a productive member of society.

DON'T GO HERE! I went to get a simple inspection done, waited in the nonexistent line for 10 minutes, just to be told they couldn't even do the inspection for a b.s. reason. Our truck has passed every single past inspection and passed at the very next place I took it 5 minutes later. Don't waste your time. I'm just glad I didn't waste any money on this horrible place.

Buettner Tire & Auto
Not an honest business practice! Have been bringing my old car to be serviced at this business for over 5 years, as my car gets older, they start to make a case to repair it. Always make you change a whole set of tires. Their techs are full of lies and make up unnecessary repairs to create their jobs.

Bingo Tire & Auto Service
I called them up and "talked" to a guy whose English consisted of "hello" and "tires." All I needed was my tires rotated, and the studs replaced on one of my axles. His reply was "Me no have mechanic today."

Mr Tire Auto Service Centers
Unbelievable incompetence. I took my car for routine oil change day before my wife needed to take 300+ mile trip. Less than 100 miles, the oil light comes on and engine starts knocking, wife is fortunate to be near exit in mountains of West Virginia, makes to shop, come to find mr. tire installed oil filter incorrectly and all oil leaked out...amazing the engine did not seize and my wife was not stranded on freeway in West Virginia mountains. Total incompetence of mr. tire!

The night my daughter had an accident was the first time I have encountered this business. Our roll back driver was Corey, super nice guy and super reasonable I would recommend this business to anyone. We had a lot of Christmas purchases in the car so knowing I had to be at the hospital with my daughter Corey put the car in the garage for the night so no one would steal anything. I am so thankful for everything they did for us.
Tips & Advices
Yes. New tires purchased online can often be priced lower than ones at a tire dealership. Buyers can often avoid state sales taxes and locate hard-to-find tire styles and sizes, but will still have to locate a local tire installer and pay sometimes high shipping costs.
The average cost of a set of new tires is $637, with a range of between $525-$725. In addition, installation includes mounting and balancing, alignment, and disposal of old tires.
The vehicle is raised and the old wheels are removed, then the old tires are removed from the wheels. The lug nuts, wheels, and valve stems are inspected and replaced as needed. The new tires are mounted and sealed, then inflated and balanced. The wheels are then replaced on the car. The average installation takes approximately 45 minutes.
Agencies such as the Tire Industry Association promotes tire safety through advocacy and education to the industry including: manufacture, sales, repair, service and recycling. Seek a full-service tire dealer who carries a wide variety of tire types and brands and asks about the type of driving you normally do.
  • Move your car to a safe location.
  • Turn on your car’s safety lights, apply the parking brakes and remove the hubcap if there is one.
  • Loosen the lug nuts with a lug wrench (but do not remove them), raise the vehicle with a jack and then fully remove the lugnuts.
  • Remove the flat tire and replace it with the spare tire.
  • Tighten the lug nuts by hand, lower the car and then tighten them fully with the lug wrench.

Just a moment...
