Family Vision Clinic
Great experience, love my new contact lenses and would recommend her to anyone. Brought my 8 year old daughter and she enjoyed her first eye exam, Dr. Scullion made her feel very comfortable.

I have been a patient at Family Vision Clinic of Wilmington for 3 years, and have been satisfied with my care untill my most recent visit. When I made my appointment I was very clear that all I wanted was the basic eye exam. The Dr. took it upon herself to perform a contect lense fitting on me, without letting me know what she was doing, or asking me if I desired one. I was unaware this service was performed untill I was paying the bill and saw that I was charged for it. I questioned the office manager about this charge, and reminded her that I never requested the service, nor was I asked about it before ( or after) it was performed. She told me that since the Dr. did it I had to pay for it.I find this to be an extremely dishonest, and unfair buisness practice. It is a shame that they are willing to lose a regular patient in thier attempt to trick someone into paying for extra services to boost revenue.I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND ANYONE LOOKING FOR VISION SERVICES FIND ANOTHER PROVIDER!

Griffin Estep Benefits Group
Very disappointing service. With so many people facing hard times, these folks are only about the money and taking you for a ride. If you are looking for benefits to offer in your small or medium sized business, please, for your own sake check out other brokers. These people are those that give insurance salespeople a bad name.

Ogden Optical Center
Good service. One of the cheapest eye exams in Wilmington. Good prices on contacts too. Having said that, they offer to put in your contacts for you. They charge you almost $50 to put in your contacts and don't tell you about this hidden fee until you pay. Apart from that, pretty good.
Tips & Advices
While the first appointment is the most comprehensive, the majority of appointments with an ophthalmologist begin with a basic eye exam followed by a refraction to test if glasses are needed. Other tests might include an eye muscle coordination exam, a check of pupil response and peripheral vision, slit lamp microscope test to look at the anterior segment of the eye, and an intraocular pressure assessment.
Most eye doctors will charge different amounts for their services, but a basic eye exam with an ophthalmologist can range from $50 to $300. Additional tests and treatment will add to the price.
Ophthalmology subspecialties include strabismus/pediatric ophthalmology, neuro-ophthalmology, retina/uveitis ophthalmology, cornea/anterior segment ophthalmology, ophthalmic plastic surgery, and reconstruction.
Ophthalmologists can diagnose macular degeneration, glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, ocular albinism, vitreous traction, cataracts, astigmatism, myopia, retinoblastoma, and many more.
The most popular ophthalmology procedures are cataract, laser eye treatment, and glaucoma surgeries.
