Atkins Family Practice
I'm not sure that the last review about Abron's Family Practice was correct. I have been with Ms. Wendy for almost two years now and she is excellant. She genuinely cares about her patients. On more than one occasion she has spent more than ample amounts of time to make sure all my questions were answered and health issues were resolved. Even if it took referring me to another Physican. She is a very smart woman and it is obvious that the other review on Ms. Wendy had something to do with something else (possibly drug seeking, just to through it out) because why would anyone stay with a doctor for two years and than all of a sudden decide that she is not doing her job or that she doesn't care about her patients. That is a false statement and that person should be ashamed to try and run a name such as her's in the dirt, especially when it is not true.

Masonboro Urgent Care
Had to take my 7 year old to the urgent care and for some reason medicaid put the wrong dr information on my daughter's medicaid card and they were going to be unable to see her bc of this. The lady at the front desk was super sweet asked her manager to help us out which they did and while we were in the room to be seen by the dr she called medicaid and told them what they did to us and had the visit approved. I was so impressed by the way all of the staff handled it and am extremely thankful.

Either myself or my Son have gotten excellent Health Care here Since they were located in Pine Valley Location by food lion, on 17th extension. AIR ALWAYS COMFORTABLE, OR WILL GLADLY CHANGE. This is a very organized and kind group of people!!

I first came here as a walk in for an urgent care need, and I quickly chose Dr.Meyer as my Primary Care Physician! Everyone on staff is amazing and go way above and beyond to accommodate the patient. Its been several years now and my husband, mother, friends and children have all been and were very pleased with the attitudes of everyone. No grumpy staff here!

Masonboro Urgent Care
I've been a going to Masonboro Urgent Care for quite a few years. The staff are always pleasant and the care I have received is equal to none. Dr. Meyer's my personal physician and it's great to be able to see your doctor on weekend and after "Bankers Hours".

Wrightsville Family Practice
They where able to pin point a very rare stomach bacteria (h.pylora) after two years of sleepless nights. All the doctors had a great system of communication with each other every time we went there.

Tips & Advices
An osteopathic physician practices a comprehensive form of medicine that takes a holistic approach to a person's health. Instead of specializing in one system or set of organs, an osteopathic specialist focuses on the health of the total body. This includes evaluating environmental factors that affect a person's well-being.
Many family doctors deliver babies, especially in rural areas without a nearby OB/GYN. However, most family doctors only deliver for low-risk pregnancies and do not perform cesarean sections.
Family nurse practitioners are highly educated nurses able to provide medical care individually or with the assistance of another professional. Family nurse practitioners obtain a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and then take the National Council Licensure Examination to begin working as a registered nurse. Then, they continue their education and obtain a Master of Science in Nursing. Following that, they become certified in family practice via the American Nurses Credentialing Center of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, allowing them to become certified family nurse practitioners.
Some family doctors provide immunizations while others do not. Typically, doctors who work as part of a large practice are more likely to offer vaccines in-house. Doctors in offices of one to two physicians are more likely to refer patients to a public health department or other immunization provider.
A physician's assistant is a person qualified to perform routine medical services. This individual is professionally licensed and certified, but they may not have the extensive med school education of a doctor. That said, PAs do complete almost three years of postgraduate study and more than 2,000 hours of rotations.
