Shumate, Dana B, DDS
I had to have an emergency tooth extraction over the holidays. Dr. Shumate was extremely accommodating! Not only was he open when every other dentist in the area was closed between Christmas and New year's, he was able to get me in immediately! Dr. Shumate was very courteous and professional. I have made him and his fantastic staff, our family dentist due to this visit!Thank you, Dr. Shumate!!!

Port City Dental Center
My husband and I found The Port City Dental Center through a recommendation of our friends. We couldn't have been more impressed, the staff was patient and explained things thoroughly. We were a little fuzzy on some of our insurance and they cleared things up for us that we probably should have known going in. Not to mention, the practice is the most gorgeous dental office we've been in.

Southeast Smiles
We found Southeast Smiles in google and sure glad we did! We were in NC for a vacation when a severe pain in my upper molar hit. My sister googled and found several places and only Southeast Smiles did respond to the urgency of my needs. Dr. Panchal and his staff were very helpful and made me feel very comfortable and did everything they could to help relieve me from my pain so I can enjoy the rest of my vacation. The office is very nice and clean, updated high technology equipments. Highly recommended!

Treman & Treman Family Dental Care
I have been going here for years and the staff has ALWAYS been super friendly and helpful! Dr. Mike is the GREAT! He is very gentle and really focuses on making sure you are comfortable. He is amazing at what he does and I would never go anywhere else! They offer same day crowns! I have had several same day crowns and it is amazing! They are really up-to date to the latest in dental technology! My young daughter loves going as well and I will have Dr. Mike doing her orthodontic work in a few years as well. They have always treated us like family and I love them for that! We are all smiles!
Tips & Advices
Dental hygienists are required to attend continuing education classes, and the amount of continuing education that is needed varies from state to state. Depending on the state, dental hygienists must renew their licenses every one, two, or three years. A certain amount of continuing education is necessary to successfully have this license renewed.
Dental hygienists can perform teeth whitening. This procedure is used to brighten a discolored smile. It's possible to whiten teeth at home, but you'll often get faster results if you turn the process over to a trained and skilled professional. Dentists and dental hygienists often use stronger bleaches to whiten teeth than those that are available to consumers over the counter.
The costs associated with getting the education required to become a dental hygienist depends on the type of degree chosen. For an associate's degree, expect to spend an average of $22,000. For a bachelor's degree, the average cost rises to $36,000. For a master's degree, it would take an additional $30,000 on top of the costs associated with getting a bachelor's degree.
It takes a minimum of two years to become a dental hygienist. This is the time required to obtain the associate's degree that qualifies them for licensing in a particular state. After obtaining a degree, they'll need to pass national, state, and regional exams to begin working as a dental hygienist.
The are certain key differences between a dental hygienist and a dental assistant. A dental assistant performs tasks such as disinfecting instruments, managing patients' dental records, and assisting dentists during procedures. Dental hygienists perform a more advanced set of tasks, such as polishing teeth and removing tartar, plaque, and stains.
