Galbraith, Frank K
My experience with Frank Galbraith and his office was horrible. I visited on August 13, 2015 after a large dolly was dropped on my foot and I'd been experiencing pain ever since. Although he said he saw an "old" fracture in my X-ray, he thought my pain had nothing to do with that incident and injected me with cortisone. I came back a week later with no improvement and in fact, more pain. Again, he insisted it had nothing to do with the dolly incident, but suddenly said my fracture looked "new." When I questioned him on the contradiction he became defensive and said I could just wear a walking boot if I thought that would help. His nurse came in with the boot and I specifically asked if that would be covered by my insurance. She said "yes." He wanted to see me a week later, but I canceled this appointment. I got a bill at the end of August showing both visits and saying I owed $101 that my insurance needed "toward my deductible." I wore the boot for a month and decided to get a second opinion with an orthopedic surgeon. Low and behold, neither the surgeon or the physicians assistant could even find a fracture! They saw a damage to one of my joint bones (it had become angular rather than round and this was causing the pain). I stopped wearing the boot as they said it would not help and as soon as I stopped wearing the boot, a nerve became pinched in my back! This caused more doctor visits. Fast forward to mid-October and I have received another bill from Frank Galbraith's office for $301. They claim that my insurance had not fully accessed before and now I owe more money. So not only was I injected with cortisone which made my pain worse, told I have a fracture when I don't, and told to wear a boot that threw out my back and incurred more problems, I now owe $301!

Central Kansas Podiatry
I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Weaver and his staff at Central Kansas Podiatry! It took me a long time to decide to go back (he's the 3rd dr I've seen) to a foot specialist because I figured I was pretty much SOL and would have to deal with my pain. I was literally limping everytime I stood up. It was painful, embarassing, and all the hard work I put in to lose weight was going down the drain because I couldn't stand to run anymore. Whenever I stood up, it felt like I was running around barefoot and ended up stepping on a pebble. It sucked. So finally I decided to give CKP and Dr. Weaver a shot. First off I must say that I have never been to a clinic with such helpful staff and above that, funny. They understood what I was going through and Dr. Weaver was able to tell me what was wrong with my foot in terms that I understood. I have Plantar Fasciitis, a heel spur, and Achilles Tendonitis. The treament regimen prescribed by him was physical therapy, night splints, stretches, orthotics, inflammation reducing medicine and last but not least, cortisone injections. All have helped tremendously! And, as much as I hate to say it (because they are in no way, shape, or form, pleasant), the injections are a God send! It's a few seconds of pain, but the effects are immediate and amazing! I've had 4 now, and it is so nice to be able to get up and just walk. It sounds ridiculous to say, but if you have heel pain, you get it. Dr. Weaver is the only person I will ever let examine my feet! Great Dr., great staff, great location. In fact, if you are looking for more than great, this is where you need to be. Thank you CKP!
Tips & Advices
Examples of podiatric specialties include orthopedics, primary care, sports medicine, surgery, podopediatrics, and wound care and management.
Podiatrists can perform surgery on the foot, ankle, and related lower extremity structures. These procedures can range from noninvasive to reconstructive.
Podiatrists can provide stem cell therapy, custom orthotics, foot and ankle surgery, and treatment for toenail fungus, common foot issues, and ingrown nails, among many other services.
Every visit with a podiatrist varies depending on the condition and the amount of discussion and treatment necessary. Initial appointments can last up to 45 minutes, while subsequent routine meetings take at least 30 minutes.
In most cases, foot and ankle services that podiatrists provide are covered by health insurance. Not all podiatrists participate in all health insurance plans, however. Consult your specific coverage to better understand its podiatry offerings.
