This place has a cafe vibe with about 10 to 15 tables. It's not your typical colorful restaurant; granite tables, stone walls and tasteful decor. The carne asada is amazing! I had a taco with rice and beans and by boyfriend ordered the buritto with everything on it, which comes with a side of peppers & carrots in vinegar (my boyfriend said it was a staple of true mexican places and very good). The taco was simple, but very good: meat, onion, and cilantro wrapped in a homemade tortilla & served with fresh lemon wedges. The burritto was a bigger version and included rice and beans. Both were good, but I like the taco better. There wasn't anything special about the rice and beans. Next time, I'll order two tacos instead. The homemade chips and salsa were also very good. Bottom line: great food for great prices in a nice setting. We'll absolutely be going back.

Big B's Beef
It took me 13 days, but I finally had both Italian Beef and Italian Sausage at Big B's Beef, just north of 47th and Seneca. It was excellent. I've been disappointed about a lack of Chicago-style food in Wichita, but it's finally here. The beef was juicy. The sweet peppers were excellent. I had my Italian Sausage with red sauce. Wow! It's all made to order, so it takes a bit longer, but it's worth the wait. The wonderful fries are hand cut. Prices are reasonable. If you love Chicago and Chi-town food, let's do our part to patronize this business. I'll be sure to take my wife back for a Gyros, pronounced YEE-ROS, and THEY HAVE THE ROTISSERIE, the only place in town I know of. I haven't had the Chicago-style dog yet, but I have great expectations. They have free delivery for the Southwest Side.

Evitas Mexican Restaurant
Discovered this little gem strictly by scent. I was sorting through my storage unit and smelled this enticing aroma. After finishing up I scented out where the smell was coming from and found this little café next to Seneca Street Bar. They had a sign out advertising fried Tacos which reminded me of Connie's on North Broadway 30 years ago (not today). This is a family run business that's been here for about 7 months. It is small so don't expect booths. The service was fast and friendly. The food was hot, well spiced, and delicious. Their chips and salsa are worth the trip. You'll want to take them home. Give this place a try and I'll bet you'll be back!

Loved the food, the service, and the decor. My only pet peeve is that the music used to be better and more diverse. Latin music can be some of the prettiest in the world. Lately all I hear is a continuous disco type dance beat, song after song. I look around and see lots of older folks and families with young children. No one is enjoying the nightclub music. Hope they'll work harder at returning to the great music they used to have. Other than that, one of the best restaurants in town.

Taco Rio
Good fast food; not fine dining. Taco Rio has better fast mexican food than most of the large taco chains in Wichita. Do not expect a fascinating culinary experience any more than you would at Taco Bell. It is locally owned and has a friendly staff. I like the ability to call my order in ahead; so it is prepared when I arrive.

Jose Peppers
They always have good food, friendly staff. I love how they have so much room at your table even when you have a big group. The restrooms are always clean and never a mess. They are very quick at clearing out tables so your not looking at a dirty table next to you for a long time. The prices are cheap as well.

QDOBA Mexican Eats
Thought I would try it again as I cane here close to closing the first time and the food was not as fresh. This time it was great. The tequila lime chicken is very good and all the ingredients are extremely fresh. The service was very friendly and the establishment is very clean. Will definitely come back.

Taco Pronto
I have been a customer for many years. I like the fact that the food is alway freshly made. It does not have that artifical cheese flavor that some mexican food has. The prices are very good. Having an owner working on site is a plus. Ken on W 21st and Linda on W Central.

They have a great website but I really like to shop in the store. Very nice selection and very helpful and knowledgable sales people. When they didn't have my size, they ordered for me and had it shipped to my door at no extra charge. Fantastic boot selection.
