Sears Appliance Repair
Tech griped entire time at our home. He was supposed to level washer and dryer to same height (last tech leveled to different heights and they are side by side); said he couldn't do it. He was also scheduled to work on our cook stove and level it as well ( don't like unlevel cakes)..... He said was level and refused to do it... Needless to say; the cake baked this weekend for an 85th birthday party was lopsided. Why are we paying for the extended warranty service if they won't do it/refuse to do it.

Sears Appliance Repair
Repairman arrived on time. It took him less than a minute to recognize the cause of the problem with our microwave and about three minutes to fix the problem. Top Notch Service by personable friendly individual. Superb representative for Sears.

You might think they're overpriced, but other stores want $700 for a plastic sweeper (!?)

Sears Parts & Repair Center
I bought a very nice refrigerator from Sears less than a year ago. The water line keeps freezing up causing the water to stop working and the ice machine as well. I have had a serviceman at my house at least 8 times for this and every time the Sears rep on the phone tells me that the next time Sears will replace the fridge. I have had nothing but terrible service from the Sears people who I speak to on the phone. The men who have come out to my house have been very nice and informative, but they do not work for Sears themselves. And my fridge has not been replaced so I do not have filtered water or an ice machine for Christmas tomorrow. I will never purchase a large appliance from Sears again and I'll recommend the same for my friends and family. I am just as busy as the next person, I don't have time to take off work 8 times in a year to have someone come out and NOT fix the problem.
Tips & Advices
Aftermarket replacement parts can be perfectly safe and reliable, but be sure to do your research. If replacing a more integral piece, such as washing machine’s water pump or a thermostat for a busted water heater, it might be best to purchase new.
Replacement parts generally come with warranties extending anywhere from 30 days to five years, depending on the original price, the nature of the fix and the age of the part itself.
If you’re seeking new parts repair companies will generally mark up their prices slightly--particularly at a major national retailer. However, used parts are typically discounted.
Cheaper used appliance parts can be found online or at many local, independently owned retailers, along with ecommerce sites such as eBay. Major retailers, however, generally limit their selection to unused, full-priced options.
Second-hand appliance parts are generally anywhere between 50-75% cheaper than new ones, but warranties might not extend as long and the parts may be less reliable or come with a shorter lifespan. Be sure to research the source of any second-hand parts to ensure the dealer is reputable and the part itself reliable.
