Hoy's Custom Shop
I was told my car would be ready for pick up on October 9th. I went to the shop at 6:30PM (hours posted on door read 11-8). Shop closed early. My car sitting out front not fixed. No communication attempt. Left message. Had not heard back. Stopped in on the 10th. Jack apologized. Said he was busy. Asked to to give him until following Monday. I agreed. Went to the shop at 5:30 PM today the 16th. Shop closed early again. Again no communication. Left a message. Have not heard back. Have no idea if he does good body work or not since I haven't gotten my car back yet.

Eye Candy Garage
Don't listen to that other person. I took my car there to be fixed and they were WONDERFUL about it. Listened to my concerns and were prompt to get my car back as good as new. They even charged less than the others wanted! I HIGHLY recommend this place.

U Save Tire
My boyfriend went in there today to get a tire put on they took an hour then he noticed that they cracked his wheel. They refused to take the blame for doing it then charged him extra for doing nothing. He was also cussed at by the employee. NEVER USE THIS SHOP! They not only overcharge people but they will also mess your stuff up and make you pay for it.

Yost Auto Service
BEWARE OF THIS PLACE!!! I have been a loyal customer of Yost for many years. I brought my vehicle in this week to get checked out before I go on a road trip. I had no concerns with the car. I was told that all four tires and break hoses needed to be replaced and that they would need to order the hoses for the back. When I got home that night I checked my car maintenance records and discovered that they already replaced the front break hoses a year ago when brought it in with an issue. I did some research and talked to people and the info I could see indicated that the hoses would not go bad that quickly. Everybody I talked to has either never had to replace their brake hoses or straight out said that this was suspicious and I was being scammed. When I went to pick my vehicle up I asked why BOTH front hoses would have gone bad so quickly. I was told it could have been, ‘because of the heat’ which is not logical because there would be more people with the same problem as I am sure my car does not get any hotter than anyone else’s. Realizing how dumb that sounded the employee also said that, ‘it could be a faulty part’ which I could except if it was one of them, but not BOTH. I was not charged as the part was still under ‘warranty’ but I now question the necessity of the other things they did. Don’t trust this place!! They did the bare minimum to make things right with me after I caught them and tried to minimalize their responsibility by blaming the weather and the parts.

Wichita Auto Plaza
Long story short owner chased me all the way to our vehicle screaming when we said we wanted to think on the deal. Then Marco screamed he would not honor the deal since we where leaving and we didn't need to come back to his lot. Okay whatever, as if we had planned on it after being yelled at by the owner of the company like that. I would not recommend unless you feel like watching a temper tantrum.

Eddy's Toyota
I would give them a 0 if I could. They are so dishonest time and time again. I went in and told them I needed a car now. I told them what I didn't want and that is what they pushed. they would not take no for an answer. I did finally see a car and decided to buy it. Then, went it was time to settle everything the payments were higher then what I was lead to believe. "Oh, it's just $50 more. That $50 could be used for other payments like rent. They did not inform me it had issues and it was an as is car. Then, I had to go back in because the financing wasn't approved. So, I had to use their financing team. The cost went up. The bank said the car was too much for what they sold it for. Didn't make it before the first payment and the front end went out. They felt bad. I called the District Attorney and they said This place was one of three of then worst places to buy a used car. It is legal but not ethical. This time they said they would help me. Haha. I had to go with a car I did not want and really could not afford or pay up front to fix the car they unethically sold me. I decided to cut ends meet and makes higher payments. At one point all I had to pay was $117. Since money was very tight, I decided to call them up to just pay this amount. The lady lectured me saying that it would hurt my credit score. I let her know I didn't care. Well, they took it out. Then, they also took out the regular monthly amount. They would not credit it to my account for the next month. Then, that lesser amount didn't exist and it went back to the full amount. DO NOT BUY A USED CAR THERE!!!!

Gerber Collision & Glass
Two years ago we had work done there and Paige was a great help with the stressful accident repair experience. Now here we are again needing repair work after we were rear ended on Kellogg. State Farm tried to make out like it was going to take weeks to get any thing done. Again, Paige stepped in to make sure we are going to be taken care of timely. Thanks Paige! Boo SF

The Clutch Guys
I phoned this business looking to have my air serviced in my vehicle. Bob told me to bring the car by and he would check it out. I did take the car by and he promptly diagnosed the issue and scheduled me an appointment. This mechanical issue was resolved and in the process they also picked up vacuum leak. This was an issue that had been looked at many times by mechanics but never resolved. They diligently worked on solving it and mastered the problem. I am extremely happy with the service I received and would highly recommend The Clutch Guys !

The Clutch Guys
I was having problems with my Dodge Avenger and took it to another shop and they told me the repairs were going to be around $1,500!! The mechanic was so rude and I felt like he was just trying to take advantage of the fact that I am a woman and that I do not know a whole lot about cars. I decided to get a second opinion so I took it to The Clutch Guys. Thank God I did!! Turns out that the other shop was trying to scam me! The Clutch Guys diagnosed the actual problem and it was only $200! I was treated with kindness and respect and the owner took the time to show me exactly what the problem was and answered all my questions! It is so good to know that there are still some honest mechanics! I will be referring The Clutch Guys to all of my friends and family!
Tips & Advices
Among the common scams pulled are needless repairs, where a garage charges you for work that isn't necessary. Another popular one is attracting customers through a cheap oil change or tire pressure check. Then, when you your car is being repaired, they give you a long list of other corrections they'd like to make, therefore boosting the total cost of your bill. The best way to combat these types of problems is getting a written estimate before work is done so you can see how much repairs are expected to cost. If the final bill is higher than the estimate projected, ask to specifically see the work. Make sure information is put in writing as well. If a problem remains, you can have proof that work was not done to your satisfaction.
For winter driving, features such as the defroster, heater and exhaust system are paramount. Look in your owner's manual for specific directions on how features should be checked and repaired. Many newer cars have a cabin air filter that can be replaced when needed, allowing warm air to continue to flow in. Also, check tires before winter driving, as they need to be at the proper pressure to perform well on snow and ice.
In the spring and summer, you want to be sure your air conditioner and cooling systems work correctly. Given the high temperatures, overheating is a common problem. Look over the system by ensuring there is enough coolant available. If it needs to be refilled, it is best to open the hood and add more to the car before it gets too warm out. Also, clean out fan ducts and other ventilation sources necessary for summertime driving.
Some fixes to your car can be done without paying a specialist. Issues like replacing oil and air filters are relatively simple, with instructions provided in the owner's manual on how to make these changes. The same goes for replacing broken windshield wipers or burnt-out headlights. Such issues should be repaired quickly to guarantee safety, but don't require a visit to a garage.
Yes. Not every type of auto repair work needs to be done by a certified mechanic. You can fix some of a vehicle's issues just by paying attention to how the automobile is running and having a basic understanding of auto repair. Look over the ways weather may impact your car and what preventative measures you can take to avoid having to take it into the shop.
