Maxon's Tree Service
Maxon's professionals removed a large oak tree that had fallen on and through my house. They were prompt (early, actually!), professional, friendly and responsive to our concerns. One branch had angled into the house by about 4 feet; if not removed carefully, it would have ripped an even larger hole in the roof! These guys managed to finesse that branch out of the hole without any further damage to the roof, expertly, safely and efficiently. I would strongly recommend them to anyone. Prompt, professional, efficient service from an expert, friendly crew! No worries about further damage to my home, all work performed in the safest manner possible... what more could you want? Great job, guys!

Maxon's Tree Service
Excellent experience with Maxons. Their price was half of the other quote that I got. Their start was delayed by a week or so (due to storm damage cleanup and wet weather), but they were great about calling me each day to explain why they weren't there. Then when they did get there, they were in and out in four or five hours, with minimal damage to the lawn and barely any leaves or branches left around. The cleanup was outstanding! Highly recommend.

In a horrible situation, I felt blessed to have a company such their's come to my rescue. Thanks Maxon's!!! You are all wonderful!

Brad Maxon is the best! We had a tree uprooted during a storm and Brad was here within the hour to take the tree down even though the storm wasn't over. He then took down about 9 trees, they were efficient, cleaned up and made it painless. Brad and his crew went out of their way to make us happy. Would highly recommend Maxon Tree Service!!

Maxon's Tree Service
Great, quick service at very reasonable cost. Had 8 huge trees (near house and power lines) removed, ... showed up on time, got the job done and cleaned up. They were very careful and even moved my glass globes (from deck lamps) so they would not get damaged. Would gladly recommend them to anyone.

Tips & Advices
Do your due diligence and always ask for proof of insurance and certification before agreeing to any work. You will also want to be on the lookout for telltale signs of scams and be cautious of any company that:
  • Will not provide you with a certificate of their insurance policy or only has general liability coverage
  • Declines to give you a written estimate for the job
  • Gives you bids that either seem very low or very high
  • Contacted you out of the blue to see if you needed their services
  • Has complaints against it from business bureaus in your area
  • Asks for payment before starting work
  • Doesn't have a fixed physical address
Tree service companies are also great places to get your wood if you happen to have a fireplace. Many tree businesses offer free delivery and stacking of hardwoods, such as maple or birch. These can make for the best firewood because they burn slowly and don't produce as much smoke as other types.
If you want to add to the greenery in your yard but you're concerned about the right species to plant or where to put it on your property, seek the advice of an arborist.
If a storm hits and damages your residence, a tree service professional is usually on your list of people to call for help after first responders and your insurer. A professional service can completely remove a tree or just prune and saw off its branches if a storm damages a tree. After sawing or destroying the tree, professionals can then remove any of the dangerous debris from your yard by hauling it off.
Some bugs burrow through the bark and damage hardwood and softwood trees. Depending on the species of trees in your yard and the region of the country you live in, aphids, the infamous emerald ash borer or other pests could destroy your healthy trees.
